Not a good look
Yeah but Naruto is the new hotness
Welp, that basically spells out how bad SFV is.....already went back to SF4 myself.
(Hasn't Grand Theft Auto V been out for sale on PS4 for like 6 months+, or am I fucking losing my mind? If so, that is absolutely pathetic....)
To be fair, how well a game sells is only loosely correlated with how good it is for any genre. For fighting games in particular, it's almost entirely about press. And the press for SFV was tepid at best even at release, and has gotten shit on non-stop since. And it deserves every bit of it, but not for being a competetively unbalanced game.
A rushed piece of turd hoping to cash in on the esport craze, at the expense and compromise of the game's integrity and the hardcore fans that have kept the franchise alive for damn near 30 years, didn't sell well?
You don't day? (Well, except me, cus I've been saying it since day 1).
Some things in life was just not meant for filthy casuals. In sports, boxing isn't meant to be enjoyed and consume by your typical sportos. In competitive gaming, Street fighter and the fighting genre isn't supposed to attract the WoW or League crowd.
Fighter(s) is a grown man gaming genre. Not for the faint of heart.
Capcom was suppose to take their time, make a deep, complex, hardcore SF worthy of succeeding the GOATNESS that was sf4.
But like always, greed and misplaced, deluded ambition ruined a good thing.
Its getting harder and harder to differentiate Jcvd and Welts post .
He is a man after my heart, after all.
I really like the game, but I have to kinda agree with Welt, and, as much as it pains me, JVCD. It's fun, but the game is a complete mess on top of it having way too much exposure during the Beta. People were constantly needing to be reminded that it was only a Beta test of the game, and not the game in general. Then Capcom shipped a buggy, incomplete mess of a game.
Alex lost his stomp
RIP
Flash Chop: Alex performs a splendid chop. After the Heavy version, it's possible to combo into his throw attack "Power Drop".
Air Knee Smash: A very strong special move where Alex jumps up into the air with a flying knee. If he hits his opponent, he grabs his opponent and drops them down.
Power Bomb: A move where Alex grabs his opponent and slams them into the ground. It's very powerful, so let's make good use of this whenever it's an up-close fight.
Head Crush: Alex does a small jump to close distance, then grabs his opponent and delivers a hearty headbutt! This move delivers extremely high stun to the opponent!
I can't hate on the actual meat of the game. It works, decently balanced, and to me it's fun. The online portion is a shitshow currently but when it works it's great. I can't rage too hard at SFV's ranked though cause I had worse connections in SFIV than I ever did in V. But when it's bad V, it's fucking bad.
I wonder how people would have taken it if Capcom sold the game at a cheaper pricepoint ($30-40) but then charged $20 for the March dlc we're going to get which would make the game "complete" and worth the pricetag of a full game.
I need to grind some longer sets with a Vega player. I have no fucking clue what to do about this character with Mika. Anytime I play a halfway decent one, he just keeps me out till I die. No idea how I'm supposed to make him block anything, there's gotta be something I'm missing here.
Looking at the rankings I see Capcom finally put the whooping on TriggerSFV.
For anyone not in the know, it's a Ryu bot who I saw get as high as #3 (which really meant #2 since WORLD_COMBO was/is a ragequitter).
Sako is playing Chun on Daigo's stream atm.
This motherfucker just did instant stomp overhead into air lighting legs into a full combo. WTF
YO seriously anyone who wants to play Chun should watch this stream or the archive. The combos Sako is dropping in training mode are insane.
Are you sure? Bc I think welt and jaunclaude said this game is too dumbed down for any of that

Idk, maybe this shit is old news to some, but seeing the kind of juggles Chun is actually capable of is blowing my mind. And also making me realize how bad like 99% of Chun players must be.
Yeah he's not really doing anything new with her. Stomp > air legs isn't a combo (maybe it is with vtrigger on standing ch with perfect timing?), it's just to cover the stomp so it's not punishable on hit. There are definitely a lot of bad Chuns but also optimal Chun is the hardest character in the game by far lol
