So i went back to play some USFIV and... it was horrible, like really horrible. I know SFV has its connection issues but 5 bar SFV connection > anything in SFIV. Couldnt play SFIV for more then a couple matches :/

According to Fourwude the PS4 version of SFV is 122 ms (7.7 frames) of input lag.
Btw the Grand Finals (Art vs Moonz) from NLBC last night is absolutely ridiculous.

Literally every character in the game can stop IA legs without even standing up. No more tears.
Needs to learn the alphabet better. M. Bison being between Nash and Necalli was very confusing.
That said, thanks. Good to know Birdie is basically fucked against stomp into legs
What are the odds of them reworking the engine to improve the situation? Nil? I'm going with nil.
Fuck, at least I know why I can't block half the time now.
So clearly I haven't been playing enough because I just had my first match since release with massive teleporting and literally almost a half second of input lag. I thought people were just exaggerating. This game really is amazing. Literally just holding downback and buttons hit me. I can't even be upset. It's just comedy.
I'm wondering if they'll even keep developing beyond the next 5 months. If that. How do you recover from this bad of a launch?
Does plinking still work in this game? I think I remember somewhere that Combo was trying to kill it.
I'm working on Nash BnBs and his c.MP > sMPxxSonic Sythe is a 1F link on the MPs
Unless their contract with Sony guarantees a development cycle, I highly doubt it. There is a very good chance their contract is for 1-2 years post release though. I deal with these software/hardware contracts all the time, and we would never do one that only lasted say 6 months post revenue date. For reference, the contracts I deal with are a hell of a lot bigger in terms of $ than SFV would be worth.
Sony is probably happy taking a loss and counting this game as a marketing tool just to say " we have Street Fighter on our console and Microsoft doesn't", even if it is the worst one ever made. The evidence is very clear from the E3 the ps4 was announced. We saw Ryu all over their marketing (driving a cab, etc) and he was nowhere to be found on microsofts end.
Low key? He might as well have italicized that whole sentence.

I wasn't initially because I was typing from my phone, but I wouldn't mind just italicizing it. Sadly, most of the FGC people I've come across consider a career working at Chick-fil-A or Foot Locker. They don't exactly understand how software/hardware contracts, at a global level, could cost anything near (shatter) the cost of videogame development, thus reference is provided.
There are a few people, locally, who truly believe SFV is their big chance to make playing a videogame their living. It isn't even funny at this point, just sad.
This game has a buffer window, you have something like 3 or 4 frames to input a 1f link. Just err on the early side and the buffer will do the work for you.
I have no idea if plinking still technically works, but you shouldn't need it, and even if it did work it would be less effective than just double-tapping.
No idea, but adding an in-game option to disable vsync (or maybe just disable it altogether on ps4) would help things considerably, and I'm sure they can handle that at least.
Think that's HK
It has nothing to do with the actual fighting, but holy shit, some of the soundtrack of this game is absurdly good. The Chara select theme is just too good.
I swear 2 random Japanese people with a guitars, one with a drum kit, one with a keyboard and a few with spare violins could bang out the most beautiful songs in a good morning's practice. I'm a much bigger fan of SFV's progressive rock vibe than 4's synth overload.
I enjoy most of the music. The only sound related thing that this game sorely lacks is a real announcer. I'd even take that robotic match count chick saying shit during the actual fights.

It's no Guilty Gear, but it's definitely one of the better soundtracks around right now.
SF3 is probably still my all time favorite fighting game soundtrack though.
