NCR looks like it will only have roughly 1/3 of the players that Final Round did. Consistently worst major in terms of stream monstering....
Currently at around 1/4th but I'm giving leeway for on-site regs.

True that, scr sucls from a viewer perspective.
I love watching this game so far. First game of top 8 my gf actually paid attention to was tokido vs mago she actually got hype without knowing what's going on
and props to Sonicfox and the other two American dudes for being there to pad the record for the foreigners. Doing god's work.
I can't remember a time that NCR/SCR was good to watch, except for like....Champ vs. Daigo in finals of like SSF4...
Both of them are like Northwest Majors level of bad. They may be able to organize and run a tourney better than Bige/ShinB, but they sure as fuck aren't nearly as good to watch as someone not there. CEO and FR always have the best competition because everyone goes. I mean FR just had 1000+ while turning away people and NCR only has 340 people in their now live SFV bracket. Of course it will run smoother with 1/4 the people to accommodate lol.
This is still no excuse for Shin Blanka. He knew how many people were coming and should have paid for more, or higher quality, workers. I think the problem is caused by them trying to make as much $ as they can off of the event and not spending extra like Jebailey does.
Quick rundown:
CEO: Seems to always evolve and everyone has good things to report beyond Noel Brown. Payouts were terrible until the game companies started competing over pot bonuses.
FR: Incredible competition because the East, West, South, and Asia shows up (sometimes Ryan Hart!). Severe lack of space, equipment, and timing. Ran off volunteers who either half of show-up or have no idea what they are doing.
Big E Events: Grimy as fuck, but tons of good MM/exhibition usually go on for the stream monsters. Most of the very best Marvel 2 and vanilla SF4 stream moments came out of Big E events. Goes cheap on venues and workers.
ECT: See Big E events with bracket rigging.
SCR: Attempts e-sports and puts everyone to sleep. Before the Pro Tour, they were lucky to get 2 Japanese a year and usually had to fly them in out of tourney purse. Most of the time, it was Daigo alone, Sako alone, or like Tokido+Mago. Infiltration doesn't count because he goes everywhere.
NCR: I don't have anything good to say. I'm sure the weather is nice and the venue can hold the much smaller crowd with ease.
NWM: Lol @ "major" being in the title
KiT: It is getting bigger and the TO is great. Bad timing occurring right before SFV this year. It needs to move to Nashville instead of being held in Murfreesboro or Memphis. Probably too expensive in Nashville though.
EVO: Yeah, nothing even remotely compares, especially when it is not located in a shit venue.
Canada Cup: This was one of my favorite events to watch each year with the team tourney. It has kind of dwindled over the years, but this year it is being held in Toronto and should be bigger than ever.
I'm not going to bother with EU/ASIA tourneys.
Anyone want to get matches in online?
Yeah his fang was a lotttt more solid this time around and he cut down on decision making mistakes. He's just getting out played by the best to ever play sf.
The NCR/SCR combo, to me at least gave me time to do other stuff between matches, so there's that.
CEO/Canada Cup have always been the most enjoyable events outside of Capcom Cup/EVO.
ECT is generally the only Big E event I actually pay somewhat attention to. I barely watched Winter Brawl, and..I dunno, Summerslam or something? I never really watch those.
Never watched KiT either, and NWM I watched the last couple of years because exhibitions and some Guilty Gear stuff.
The way I always kind of look at is that EC events are better for the viewer, WC better for the attendee.
Except for blowups like with Kazunoko last year, you don't generally hear complaints about the actual event for most West Coast stuff. Whereas you're guaranteed to hear complaints at every event associated with Big E.
Evo, Canada Cup, UFGT (or whatever it's called now), and CEO consistently provide the best experiences from my view for both the player and the stream monster. Every other event generally has some kind of major issue present.
Just won a match to hit 4k LP and Gold, and OF COURSE it fails to send match results to the server.
And the next person ragequits, holy fuck
3rd times the charm, Gold earned and e-peen satisified.
Servers going down for 7 hours tomorrow, from 10AM to 5PM PST
Hopefully the server reset will fix my status display so I'm not constantly showing up as a level 0 Ryu
NWM is starting to become an anime tournament hub. So if you're into that, then it's probably going to be better than watching for SF. They did right by KOF too.
NCR's solitary death pool for those who late reg'd may be worth a watch.
I do remember NWM having a good showing for Xrd last year, mostly bolstered by Ogawa showing up to murder all the silly gaijins
I've watched last couple years. The year before that I think was when Nemo was there and that was fun for Marvel.
but yeah Ogawa was there last year and..Dogura? XRD was fun to watch.
in other news, last week Art was super against sharing tech, now wants to share tech, but only with certain people via discord.
good shit. maybe one day he'll open up sharing tech to everyone so they can 'beat Asia', who, if I remember right, was supposedly gonna be behind the US this time around
