Hopefully they find a way to weed it out because it goes against the entire design concept of the game and will ruin it if left in. Almost every single "pro" that complained about SF4 and has praised SF5 listed removal of the this kind of stuff and more raw reads as why. This is a hell of a lot worse than crouchtech and trip guard was a fuck ton better in SF4.

Get the fuck out of here with that nonsense.

You can't do this in the corner or else you'll get get AA'd. And it causes you to give up substantial screen positioning when performed full screen.

You're also forgetting that this OS can only be applied during your wake up. The applications for crouch tech isn't even close.

Crouch tech allowed you to play brain dead defense, which is plainly obvious when you look at how many people are free to shimmy in this game.

As someone who is generally bad about using option selects, I welcome the attempted removal of any and all of them.

Of course I didn't help myself with that matter by using T Hawk, who had like zero option selects in IV.

The application for crouch teching in IV is totally the same.

Afraid your opponent is going to grab you on wake up?
Crouch tech.

Afraid your opponent is going to tick grab you?
Crouch tech.

A counter hit setup?
Delayed crouch tech.

Afraid of getting dive kicked?
Crouch tech + OS it into another normal.

Want to start your offense with a meaty LK but you're afraid your opponent will mash DP/Grab?
Crouch tech.

Want to meaty with a stronger normal but you're still afraid your opponent will mash DP/Grab?
Crouch tech + OS it into another normal.

I have no idea what you just tried to say. I was all over SF4 when it came out and I don't remember anyone saying SFIV's goal was to remove OSs and bring the game back to reads, or that it did. OS's were discovered in the arcade version like day 2, long before anyone in the US was spamming the internet about it.

Also, Valle's spamming posts are anything but hype building. He has been mass posting since about 2 months before release defending the game by citing shit like "there are no OS! reads are back!", which is not even remotely true as the game stands now.

I believe he's implying that since the OS is new it's hyped as the next big thing and will break the game. I remember the same from the Proximity Guard option select in IV, and that ended up being nothing. Time will tell whether this ends up being relevant down the road, or just a flash in the pan.
