The one flash referenced, he also said that he doesn't even know how the OS is performed. Eduardo and Tokido are the only players supposedly using it and neither of them won the tournament.

Besides, that OS is getting patched and the other will be technically worthless, BUT LETS CONTINUE OVERREACTING.

If you 171 it covers more options but requires you to not be in the corner and not be Sim. You can do several versions WITHOUT 171, but they lose to the same shit they lost to in 4 and that shit just happens to be better in 5 (mostly due to incredibly high damage output on your opponent guessing wrong once when you have meter). It STILL makes your odds of beating an even skill player a lot higher and someone a little better than you damn near not happening.

Anyone who thinks it is useless is a damn moron, especially when the best player, or one of, in your scene in Deejays case brings up the complaint to begin with.

I'm not overreacting at all because I couldn't give a fuck less if they keep it in or not. I'm playing the Division over this game right now lmao. I just think if they want to achieve their goal, then they should find a way to remove it.

There's several OSes in the game right now. Welt was referring to Ino's jab/throw OS:

You hold 1, press jab, wait 2~3 frames, then throw. This is the one most people are talking about and the one Daigo/some other JP players consider impractical because it only works if you can hit that 2~3 frame window consistently, if you mess up you'll get hit. That's getting removed by the changes in the patch by making it so if you press jab during the tech window you can't tech the throw anymore.

The video I posted was to give an example of a different throw tech OS (fuzzy jump) that will still be in the game after the patch. If you understand how it works (watch LK's Persona video I posted, it explains what's going on better than BKen's SFV video), you can see it's probably impossible to remove without doing something crazy like making the tech window 1 frame. I was more pointing out that the patch isn't removing all known OSes, just some of them (i.e. Ino's jab/throw OS, Xian's throw/V-skill OS, but not 171).

Fuzzy jump isn't anything like crouch tech though, it doesn't remove reads or risks from the game. It exists in Persona, BB and GG; people even used it way back in 3s. If they do nothing on your wakeup you'll jump back, and you can still get hit out of jump startup, so anyone can punish it once they know it exists and see you're going for it (easy to test by just down-backing on your first knockdown and seeing what your wakeup is - if you jump + rising button, you're obviously doing the OS).

It's actually super risky in SFV, because a lot of characters can hit you out of wakeup jump+button with a crush counter (i.e. Mika can just delay f+HP by a few frames, run the same setups she normally would and confirm the CC on reaction). All 171 does is change the read from 'blocking? y->throw / n->hit', to 'are you doing 171? y->171 punish / n->normal mixup'. The biggest benefit of 171 is it's extremely strong against players who will reliably try to meaty you, but don't know 171 exists (or know what it is but haven't labbed their character's answer to it).

No. But I'm on a second account with less than 1.5k LP and the ragequits are out of control

^ They are but I'm doing it too because I'm already on a severe losing streak, salty, and fuck Capcom until they implement a countermeasure. Even then literally nobody other than the top fish are gonna get their LP reset. If the countermeasure isn't like 5min lockout from matchmaking or something I don't think anyone will care even still. 5 probably isn't long enough either.

I've had a handful of 10fps rollback first rounds tonight but otherwise been pretty smooth and no disconnects other than the intentional ones. Also got a double KO and a draw game out of it. Counts as a minor loss for both players in terms of LP (I lost more because higher bracket).

Valle isn't wrong when he states this. You're obscenely overrating the value of that shit OS

Holy fuck falcepalm at the amount of parroting this scrub is doing.

Protip: reads aren't back because they never, ever once left during sf4

This is the rhetorics that get parrotted by no names and nobodies during the most competitive, most talented, most diverse era of Street fighter, aka sf4. It is nothing but a coping mechanism regurgitated and taken on a life of its own. And now clueless scrubs like you are hopping on that train.

Lmao @ the notion that li Joe won because this game is somehow honest and read based. Completely fucking wrong. Consider the fact that I predicted this month's ago how this game's design was inherently going to result in random outcome based on the fact that it drew large inspiration from 3rd Strike.

Li Joe won because this game is, at its core, a random game of rock, paper, scissor with any result leading to massive 40 to 50% life loss off easy combos and low damage scaling, ala 3s.

Li Joe is the result of the "anyone can win" philosophy this game was aiming (I.e, dumbing down" for.

To imply and descredit sf4 by calling sf5 "honest and read based" just exposes how much a clueless idiot you are.

Take in the fact that 09 sf4 newblood infiltration just won the very first international stacked sf 5 tournament; an Mk player who literally came from a game of 50/50 placed highest among Americans, two no name American scrubs cracked top 8 ahead of li Joe, Valle, and all those parrots.

Yes, tell me more about how read based and honest this game is because the result totally reflects that, right???

If vortext was the flaw in the early life of sf4, massive 50% combos off rock paper scissors "reads" is this game's current biggest flaw.

Anytime you remove defensive option, it's a dead giveaway sign that you've compromise the integrity of the game.

Stop parroting shit you know nothing about, scrub.

    Crouch tech?

Street Fighter V: A Preliminary Thread

Infiltration won in SF4 because of his strong neutral, and he was impossible to open up once you knocked him down because he played characters like Akuma and Elena. Two characters who straight up do not have to deal with wake up pressure.

Fast forward to now and Infiltration is winning based on what? Good neutral. You call SF5 Rock Paper Scissors yet the game has axed all of the automated bullshit associated with scoring a knock down.

There's these things called risk, and reward now!

LI Joe was winning with Sagat, with you guessed it, solid neutral!! Before the game was bogged down by setups and vortex.

Guess how he's winning now? While playing the same character Infiltration won FR with ... With... wait for it.. Solid neutral!

The risk/reward of SF5 goes both ways now, because theres no automatic safe jump setups. There's no easy 50/50's, or mixup into 50% ultras, and no training wheel crouch tech nonsense.

If I want get damage, I have to risk something.

If I want to play defense, I have to commit to something.

Those are the reads that people like Valle are talking about.

    Tldr

    SF 5 >>> SF 4 !!!!

I agree with most of that but there is most definitely still some easy 50/50s into half health with a super lol.

And SF4 still allowed space for multiple playstyles to exist and be viable, SFV does still make pretty much everyone have the same gameplan except for maybe FANG.

Deejay been learning all about this of late now that I've worked up my shenanigans with V Trigger Bipson.

Aside with that (and commentators were saying as much during FR) but I have been feeling lately that just saving meter for CA and blowing it at the earliest opportunity really is the best use of your meter for alot of the cast.

Meter gain is insane in this game, yesterday in a set with a local I got his Ken pinned in the corner almost immediately in the first round, he got to attempt maybe two moves before I had him down to 20%...and he had 2 bars and full VTrigger just from getting steamrolled, so I had to play scared the entire rest of the round because any touch from him was 500. No comeback mechanics my ass, lol.

I honestly feel like it can be stopped though, with well times neutral jumps for when you cross up, and then well timed button presses when you teleport full screen. It is hard to deal with though, which is why you should keep doing it until your opponent proves they can punish it correctly

I've already been planning around the eventuality of people starting to neutral jump out of it, which is why I'm generally using st/cr mp instead of St HK to apply the pressure so I have time to recover and potentially punish the jump.

So wait, infiltration... Probably THE best sf4 player from sheer tournament win standards. You know the game you claim is the best... Wins in sf5 tournament and that discredits the game because he started with 4? Lologic
