I already posted this in the KI thread, but might as well post here too. Thanks in advance.

Need some advice on an arcade stick. I play fighting games casually, but with KI coming to PC (I also picked up SFV last week), I'm ready to make the jump to a stick. From the sticks I've looked at so far they seem to top out at 200-300 so budget isn't an issue. I just want a well made, comfortable stick that isn't going to break on me in 2 months and I know literally nothing about the different brands.

Madcatz is where's it's at unless you want something custom. I've been eyeing the Ps4 shadaloo TE2 but I've been using the orange Ken stick and it's been treating me fine

I'm not sure if some of their newer sticks are using the PCB present in the most recent Fighting Commander pad, but if they are it's fucking legit. PS4/PS3/PC X-Input modes, all with lower latency then a Madcatz PCB.

the HRAP4 with the hayabusa/kuro parts isn't xinput, but it does have switchable PS3/PS4 modes. with the exception of SF5, it's worked with everything on PC without any special configuration. for SF5, you have to run x360ce for it to recognize non-xinput devices.

but yeah, i've always used hori sticks and generally recommend them. cheaper than madcatz and also not ugly.

Also, did they change the system in KOF14 to make it like...less?(?) There was way too much shit in terms of supers/meter shit in 13.

There wasn't that much to begin with in 13. If you want way too much shit, look at Guilty Gear.

The PSX build had no Drive gauge. MAX mode returned. Allowed for infinite EX moves while active, but the moves were a different look compared to something like Kim's EX Hangetsuzan in KOF13. Also didn't have situations where you could special move cancel or make certain normals cancellable. Didn't get a chance to really dive into it beyond that to see if we had situations like KOF13 where you could shred someone in one hit.

From its infancy at EVO 09 when Justin and Daigo displayed the highest level of neutral and footsies right up to stunfest 2014 where Daigo and Momochis played in what is regarded as the highest level of SF match ever, footsies and neutral were the main factor in deciding the superior player. Even gootecks was shimmying way back in the day with rog, well before shimmy became a thing in sf5. PR rogs entire career was based off shimmying fools.

You know if you can do EX-specials with meter outside of MAX? and if these free EX-specials ate chunk of MAX gauge?
