If SFV is not updating on Steam.
Right click SFV in the game list and hit Properties.
Hit the Local Files tab.
Click Verify Integrity Of Game Cache.
The update magically popped up while it was doing that.

This has been a thing forever. While it is a thing to say "this game will be honest, no OS, blah blah blah", it also is a huge double edged sword on huge titles. Modern warfare 2 was infamous for that, because robert bowling said on twitter "our game will be super secure and unhackable". Lo and behold a week or so after release, the game was blown up w/ cheats/hacks online thanks to jtagged 360s and infected lobbies. Krandor's right, it'll be a never ending cycle, and people will definitely find it for the sake of finding things thanks to capcom's claims of "honesty".
