Mostly casual here: Didn't buy it at release (still haven't) because...

The hyped up "it will be good this time, promise" story mode was a couple powerpoint slides that ended early.
Trail mode was nonexistent and is still not that impressive.
Multiplayer is just the usual earn/lose points while you play people who will do dumb shit.
Survival mode looks awful and uninteresting.
I hate 95% of the alternate color choices, seems random but they're really bad imo, its not really a choices thing its more of a color tones/art style used thing.
I hated Ken in the beta and while Karin is mai waifu I'm not feeling her in 5.
No other interesting characters in the game for me and Rashid brings out my Rolento hatred which also made me lose interest in 4.

Sort of in order of importance to me but not really, since its mostly all of the game together and not just the single parts.

I think Capcom should seriously rethink the way ranked matches work, a purely point based system (with the potential to lose 100 of points if you happen to lose to someone lower ranked) is garbage. As almost everyone here as done, once getting to Gold for the sake of e-peen plus the trophy, there is very little motiviation to keep playing it.

The way KI implements ranked matches is basically perfect, with actual tiers that you have to work your way up in, 2/3 as the default for higher rankings, and you can't rank down.

Other than just now, the last 2 times I've signed on went like this:

1. Create private lobby
2. Invite like 40 people from friend list due to a lack of offline filtering and name sorting
3. Wait 5-7 minutes.
4. Check Steam friend list to see no one playing SFV
5. Log off.

Gold was super easy to get in ranked, and it isn't worth playing higher than that due to the coin flip of losing to someone teleporting around the screen.

I still laugh my ass off every time I see Ratatapa still in "Ranked" from the first 30 minutes the game was live. Dude hasn't played since day 1. I can't even fathom how it is still showing him in ranked after multiple server resets.

Wait for a match-> wait ~10 mins connecting to the match-> gets a match while still connecting to the first match-> watch myself get double perfected because I'm still connecting to the 1st match that never happened and cant fight

After watching all of the matches I've had vs wet, casual, and friend's matches, I might end up dropping Ryu(or take a hiatus from him) and work back on Necalli.

You need to start using standing LP for AA with him.

Ryu or Necalli are both good picks, it just depends on how you want to play. If you want to play a reaction based style go Ryu, if you want to play footsies and still be able to mix it up then go Necalli

So apparently selecting Alex reverts every other character picked against him to the last patch.

Came here to post that. It happens if you select Alex as your favorite character and then select another character in the battle lounge. You get the prior patch version of the characters.
