Kran, wanna play Ultra?
Kran, wanna play Ultra?
Kinda hard to do considering I'm currently on a boat inside Cape Cod Canal.
sadness
So, the HK trailers for Ibuki & Guile feature music not included in other versions of the game.
If supporting SFV means supporting my local scene, then I'm guilty. I'll play what people play and that's either V or GG

must be nicee... wish i had a decent scene.
i dont mind supporting something i enjoy. Plus if i keep giving them money, hopefully season 2 characters C.Viper on the way baby. But dont let who ever is doing faces/hair touch her she will be great. Pls lord let them have some real hair physics by then (Cammys braids goes ape shit sometimes)
No one here has made that claim except you. In fact, you are using it to justify capcoms shitty actions and unethical behaviour.
I couldn't give a fuck less about online infrastructure as online play is pennies on the dollar when compared to real tournament play. I wouldn't call it absolutely worthless but it's damn close. Capcom fucked up for charging us $60 for a beta but that is exactly what Revelator is and no one seems to care.
If I was an online scrub who didn't give a shit about taking part in a real FGC, then yeah I'd be mad at Capcom. But then I would quickly get over it and pick up a game with an actual online competitive scene that's worth a damn.
I.e.: not another fighting game

Except you're grasping at straws here? I too have said the game is garbo tier with nothing really to do at all, and even for a fighting game it's severely lacking.
but Destiny would like a word with you amongst other games rushed out for release that just have added DLC added onto it to count for content. I'm not justifying shit, so stop putting words in my thoughts/mouth.
This isn't a remotely valid comparison and you know it.
The Revelator demo is clearly marked as such, and we're talking about a product where people know what they're getting in to since the game has been in arcades for so long. Compare it to Capcom making people purchase the game effectively sight unseen to get into the ground floor for the betas.
I think both instances are kinda scummy (effectively forcing a preorder to keep up with the competitive scene), but it is substantially less so with Revelator since the game was a known quantity at the time it went on sale.
I agree, especially since Cap COULD have just called SFV's current state a paid beta, gone along with the pro tour and probably would have dealt with 10% of the bad PR associated with their botched retail release.

the problem is the people at Capcom have no earthly idea how to manage or market video games anymore which is where SFV is coming up short.
that and of course there being no actual content in V really that was promised lol
Deejay, I get different opinions, but SFV is a pile of hot shit offline or online. NLBC was completely dead last night because of a massive amount of NY players who already stopped playing. As a stream monster, the game is boring as fuck to watch. As an offline player, the game is ridiculously linear, has air-to-air problems, AA problems, and input issues. As an online player, the game isn't worth booting up in the first place. The entire game is a throw/shimmy mixup which got old the 3rd time I saw or landed it. I can't watch a match and easily identify the player like in previous SF games. The combos are easy as fuck and the same over and over, regardless of the player. As Sako said, there is no identity to the game.
The person I respect the most in my local FGC feels the exact same way. Two of the best players from Stunfest, whose house I was at playing with, feel the exact same way. These are not people who are just online scrubs complaining. The game is BAD, and the only reason it isn't entirely dead is due to it's name, not good game play or mechanics.
SFV: "OH THE SHIMMY!" very quickly became "oh....the shimmy...yay".
Yeah but unless the top players reject it as a competitive game then we will still have it. The money is there and the casuals have bought in as the Evo numbers suggest.
I don't think the hype of V is sustainable but Capcom is banking on themselves adding features and characters to keep the game alive.
Long story short, V is here right now. The sponsors are here and people are turning out for a half baked game. Even if you dislike the gameplay there is no where to go but up (barring the new characters aren't broken) and I don't think we should throw our hands up just yet.

I honestly wouldn't be mad if IV and V flourished alongside each other similar to how the smash community does their thing but that would require the V haters to stop arm chair critizing and actually supporting IV at actual tournaments/streams/locals.
Edit: sorry for oddly structured posts, I'm not the best at posting from my phone
