I find it fascinating that Capcom somehow thinks story mode will fix any of the issues with the game. At this point in a games life cycle word of mouth is a huge factor in sales, and SFV is still drowning in negativity.

I like how you think SF6 will save this. Like.. what, given their most recent history, makes you think yet another title will save anything? SFxT was trash for a while until a patch made it bearable,and now SFV has been terrible. Are they gonna magically become better game makers with 6 whenever that happens?

Yeah. Honestly, the only reason Ultra did as well as it did IMO is because there weren't nearly as many threats for FGs out around then, or for as long. I mean.. what could match it, UMVC3? (That is unless you count Melee/Smash 4, but most of you don't so that's neither here nor there)

KOFXIII had some hype EVO moments, XRD's been nice, but nothing really got close to Ultra in all honesty because games just.. weren't all that great.

With Injustass 2 coming out, that'll at least get attention for like.. a little bit, Revelator is there, KOFXIV is coming out soon, etcetc. SFV may be pushed back on the back burner post this EVO.

That and yeah, Overwatch is *huge* right now and I don't see it dropping off that fast as long as Blizzard keeps doting it with attention. Fighting game esports right now are zzzzz
