That vid of that Nash vs Combofiend, some of the shit he was doing was sick wiht VTrigger and FLASHY COMBOS OMG!
I don't know why anyone would be in such an uproar over having long link combos anyways. It's not going to be SF4 all again, nor should it be. And the series has traditionally been about shorter combos, Genei Jin/custom combo games and whatnot notwithstanding.
Shit, 80% of combos in SF3 was just fishing with pokes buffered into Super, and that didn't seem to bother the players.
That's also not a even true to begin with. All around shitty statement.
It's entirely true. No one played that shit. No one played 2nd Impact either. Some* people played 3S.
Whelp, there we have it:

3 Frame links are the tightest in SFV.
Good thing plinking won't be a thing so folks can't have that extra umph for tight links anyway?
Holy shit Iforgot how awful Eventscrubs' comments were. "Wah. 1 Frame links being gone from the game takes away any skill needed and punishes guys like Daigo and Infiltration"
Yes, because other aspects of the game like good footsie/neutral game are null and void. People gonna bitch; I"m gonna just sit back and like.. wait through the Betas and see how the game develops.
Let's not be fucking silly here, 3 frames is still a fairly tight window.
Not talking about that, I'm talking about Krandor's comment. Definitely false. I'm guessing the west's lack of understanding of the game is probably why we got done up so bad. (Which is the real reason niggas didn't want to play it. Who really wants to fly to Japan for the real competition and get done up by some no name in round 1 and then fly home? Everything else is really excuses.)
well yeah, Japan tourneys are single elim and the reward for winning is a daki or some shit, a wise Twitch employee once said "It's all about the paypuh"
Classic Costumes to be released as DLC

Capcom addressed this because of all of the flak they're getting about Ken's redesign.
shoutouts to vg247 article that's quoting an eventhubs article that's quoting an IGN video lol
Vesper has started his SF5 tutorial/breakdown series. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqHYSotYW8A
TBH, outside of birdie and maybe ryu, I don't really see a problem with the damage+ simple combos. Nash/Cammy/Chun don't really seem to do too much damage. I haven't watched much Bison gameplay to say though.
I do remember seeing a counterhit ex DP from Ryu doing like 35% though lmao.
He seems like the most different. Like his moveset is almost completely different from SF4. Dude got a fireball and shit lol. Are his combos not difficult/flashy to do the big damage though?
Also, I'm subscribing to the theory that damage is so high right now because they don't want the game to turn into a timeout fest because people are completely new to the game and don't know/can't do/practice the high execution stuff. They learned from SFxT that that could completely ruin the game and are trying to avoid that.
I also think that SFxT is currently the best fighter from a balanced mechanics/footsies and true skill dominating the game. It's just so goddamn awful to watch that it doesn't matter.
I'm bringing it to EVO for when I get really drunk lol, I still like that game
That is my big fear with SFV. If the combo system is so basic then the people I previously mentioned, such as Poongko/Sako, will be no different than watching a random good player. If this is indeed the case, people are not going to care to watch SFV after the first 6 months or so and it will suffer like SFxT did.
It needs to be well-rounded and not require extreme execution and timing to be able to win, but it also needs to allow flash and Viper-like characters of gameplay for those capable, but hey, thats SF4 lol.
With 3 frames being the hardest link (which isn't hard at all...I'd almost never drop that offline) I'm afraid nothing will leave me saying "Wow...".
