Street Fighter V: A Preliminary Thread

Lag is to video games what potato is to a car's engine: it doesn't make any sense. The term 'lag' is used in AC circuits to describe when the current lags/leads the voltage (or vice-versa) by some angle φ. What we're talking about here is latency.

Anyway, I tube'd Akuma and I get a 2 hour stream vid from LTG lul. Dat tube engagement shit doing work.

Dunno but I think the only person I lost to yesterday was a Juri player. I had no idea what the character did (first time ever facing her in V), but she seemed really strong.

Oh, and Urien seems broken strong.

It's still way too early to judge, but at least at initial glance it seems like they did a really good job of balancing across the cast. Now whether or not that makes the game worth playing for people is I guess a debate for a different time

Dhalsim was supposed to receive all these gdlk changes but I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do. Air fierce is hella slow now and grounded pokes still get blown up in neutral; they only have to respect your buttons if you are hitting them.

Guile is buff though.

Guile is the ONLY character I have enjoyed being played on streams in SFV. DU is so solid with him. This is strange because going back to sF2 he is probably one of my least fav characters to play or watch. I recently started fuckin with him in SF4 because of watching Du play.

Speaking of Guile, what the fuck happened to Dieminion? He was the better Guile back in SFIV iirc. One would think he'd be up there w/ the likes of Du in this game too. Maybe he quit? Idk.

He just failed to adjust to the game, same thing we've seen with Snake Eyez

He does play SFV, he mains F.A.N.G.

Dieminion is a defensive turtle, and SFIV was a good enough game to be flexible and let you play different styles and still be competitive. In SFV the only defensive turtle character is FANG and he sucks, if you don't play rushdown in SFV you don't win.

Dieminion also made Top 8 in the last 2 tourneys he went to.

cammy is better because half if the cast lost their srk. She can basicly go in a spiral arrow entourage tour unless you use ex srk or eat a throw. she basicly got only nerfes. if you play against cammy midscreen i suggest you eat the throws and block and thus reset the situatiin to some degree.
If you get into the corner good night to you. you better rush her down before she builds meter for ex srk lol
she really can just save the meter and doesnt need it for damage.

kinda funny how many people dont know srks arent invincible from the start up and get curbstomped by my cammy.

however how they still cant figure out how to make lobby searching convenient is beyond bogus. it really sux to enter 10 libbys with crappy connections and waiting an eternity because it auto throws you into fucking spectator mode. shits retarded seriously

More active frames/advantage on a bunch of moves so easier meaties and hitconfirms, you can cancel the heavy store special into vskill to build v meter in combos(all sorts of buffs to vskill in general making it way more useable), DP changed to punches so you don't die for accidentally getting the wrong special in a combo due to overlapping inputs
