@Shine -had to leave, NFL games coming on.
Just went to launch the game to try akuma, and streetfighterv.exe was stopped by microsoft security essentials lol.
Anyone interested in some Necalli Bops?
Out of boredom while sitting in a hotel room I just installed the physics jiggle mod. I never knew I wanted thigh jiggle in my characters until now.
Anyone else having FPS dips/stutters in the PC version? Everything will be fine, 60fps perfectly, then all of a sudden I'll go underwater SF4-style for a second (56ish fps) and back to 60 afterwards. It will do that shit forever and nothing I've tried has fixed it.
Yes, happened to me a couple times, even when I'm disconnected from the internet and just sitting in training mode.
Guess that's another thing I can check off the list then, I didn't try completely offline mode yet but was considering it. I've read on the steam forums about some guy saying he fixed it by making a clean windows profile, no way am I bothering with that shit. I've also seen somebody say it might be related to dinput, which is believable considering the timing.
unrelated but since tierlist talk earlier:

https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/...lanations-why/"My first impressions of top tier characters for 2017 are Ken, Chun-Li, and Karin, as well as Dhalsim, Guile, Laura, and Zangief as new additions to the old faces."
daigo and nemo think gief is top tierWell, Season 2 is pretty much "The Year of Zangief"
I still get random moments when my fps drops to 30 during the VS screen and the character intros then back to 60 for the match. Sometimes even the menu page runs at 30 fps. I have no fucking clue why that happens but it's been a constant thing since release.
I'd chalk it up to poor implementation of how the game is loading assets. The game stuttering everytime you finish selecting characters has been a thing since the original PC beta. If the game wasn't forcing vsync it wouldn't really be noticeable (it drops to maybe 50 fps on my laptop once I force enable gsync)
The random stutters in match are new thing tho. I was originally chalking it up to a problem I was encountering while on vacation that I initially chalked up to my parents internet (since it was only affecting online games), but after also seeing it while completely disconnected from the net it's definitely a new problem. It may be tied into the Direct Input support, but I was playing on an Xbox controller with no D Input devices connected when they were occuring.

Honestly, Urien is so good that it isn't even impressive to see people win with him.
Gave this game another shot and came to the same conclusion: anyone who thinks this is a good game is a terrible SF player.
Your takes are much too hot for someone that likes 3S.
I mean, if you want to argue that there is a standard for What Street Fighter Is, that's fine, but 3S is a worse offender than SF5. As I see it, this game is simply a different interpretation of Street Fighter. That doesn't necessarily make it bad, it just means that it's not really meant for me.
I'm sticking to my opinion, lol. I don't even love 3S that much. It is just a shit load better than 5. 2 and 4 are just light years beyond the rest. Most of the alphas are better than 3/5 by a lot, too.
Watching 3S, I can tell good players from great players and great players from phenomenal ones; 3s has a lot of moments that make me go "OH MY GOD". In 5, everyone pretty much plays and looks the exact same, all while some characters are so braindead easy that it is just stupid to watch, much less play.
For example, I can tell both players are actually quite good at the game and I've never seen ANYTHING REMOTELY close to this hype in SFV:
Edit: it is supposed to start at 5 min 51 seconds, but embedding doesn't seem to work with that.
That clip was indistinguishable from the SF5 clip Krandor just posted. It's THE SAME THING but with screaming announcers. Unless you think parrying a DP is all the difference?
If you actually believe that, this conversation is over lol.
You still pulling that "anyone that ain't like me has shit taste" bullshit, Welt?
What's next, gas-lighting?
I wouldn't really say I like it or dislike it. I play it when people are playing it; if people are playing ST or MVC2, I'll jump over to that instead. My most frequent options to choose from (among games I am willing to play) are between SF5, UMVC3, and Xrd:R. I "like" all of those games about equally.
If I have the option to play 5, 4, or 3 (and I'm playing roughly equal competition in all three), I'm playing 5. Take from that what you will.
Being good with Urien in SF3 is impressive. In SFV? not so much.
I have a friend staying with me who plays this shit all the time. He uses Urien. I told him to try Necalli. He knows some combos and frame traps. he still gets BODIED everytime he uses Necalli.
Urien is literally like a SFIV character in V. reminds me of AE Yun
-good range on normals
-several safe normals
-several safe special moves
-easy as shit to use
-can mash the shit out of st.MP with no worry because it's positive on block
-an Ultra (his V Trigger is probably the only one in the game that works like an Ultra in SFIV)
-Safe full screen ex move (lol shoulder is unpunishable on block)
-All his EX moves are good (EX headbutt is unsafe but it's a reversal)
-Confirms into CA take little effort
You can't even say his move start ups are slow and punishable because this piece of shit game has SERIOUS input Lag...
not to mention that for an EX reversal its almost impossible to CC it due to its fast recovery. Shits retarded. That shit should be punishable like every other EX SRK, but instead you either have to use MP/MK or LP buttons and only some chars can CC him on that Reversal. I hate fighting Urien online.
