You're not supposed to tell me to jump! Anyway, I forgot I have Destiny 2 and FFXIV to play.

if you're returning for stormblood, the game is pretty much the same as it's always been, lol. first raid tier is a lot easier compared to 3.0's, since they mostly no longer gate being able to learn mechanics behind tight DPS checks (v4s being the one exception, and it's not a particularly difficult check either).
Street Fighter 5: AE annouced, set for January 2018 launch.
https://blog.us.playstation.com/2017...ut-january-16/
MSRP: $39.99 or a free update for players who already purchased SF5.
Don't buy characters from now until AE drops because they're all included.
Unless it includes;
-Extremely reduced lag
-Removed all jab AA's and replaced them with actual AA's
No one gives a fuck.
Edit: if that shit doesn't have 2P start, then LMFAO
given the timing it's safe to assume this is just season 3 with a branding update, so expect the changes to be as dramatic as the transition from S1>S2 (e.g., balance patch, new DLC season, no system-level changes, and 100% no 2P rematch)
Giving all the characters 2 seperate V Triggers is a fairly big change, but obviously doesnt do anything to solve the games real problems.
The S2 > S3 balance patch is the most concerning part for me. Last season they threw that meterless DP screwball when Crush Counter already exists, among a world of other shit (and some of it didn't hold, like no more jab AAs).
So that leak from ages ago, if anyone doubted it is basically 100% confirmed now.
OK, i'll readily concede extra v-triggers is in some sense substantial, so i worded my post poorly. don't expect any system-level changes that actually alter the gameplay on any fundamental level, which is what (i assume) most people have been hanging their 'SSF5' hopes on. more 8f delayed rushdown, now with twice as many v-trigger animations!
It is going to be the same shit game with an extra V-Trigger option and tier shakeup via frame data changes. No one still playing this game (LOL) gives a shit about an Arcade Mode. That ship sailed week 1. This game needs:
1. Real AA's
2. Removal of AA jab
3. Reduced lag and..
4. HEAVY frame adjustments
5. More interesting characters
6. A new, universal gameplay mechanic that extends combos and makes combos more free-form
7. Some way of making not every character play the same, which is or piggy-backs on #6
8. EXTREMELY reduced load times
9. 2P Restart
10. Better training mode
11. Reduced damage
12. Probably needs crouch tech because corner throw mix-ups is boring as fuck to: use, defend against, and watch
13. John D and Combofiend fired
Feel free to keep adding. There is so much and I haven't played since last year in Japan, so I forgot all the terrible shit involved in this game.
At a certain level, the vision for the game is what it is.
When 3rd Strike was announced, it's not like parries were going to disappear and zoning was going to become viable again, because the game isn't about that.
When USF4 was announced, it's not like the Revenge meter was going to be changed to reward NOT getting hit, because ridiculous comeback mechanics are the way the game is intended to work.
So, yeah: if you don't like Crush Counter priority overrides and wakeup jabs and waiting your turn, SF5 is probably never going to be the game for you.

On the subject of new VTs: I sure would like to see Dhalsim get a Necalli-style permanent VT that changes his Yoga Fire to a horizontal projectile. He'd have to give up V-Reversal for it, which seems fair.
New UI looks a little more..interesting?
That's about it!
New UI isn't even that great. The gold "VS" icon makes it look like some WWE Wrestling type shit.
At least they changed the "Player Style" gauge to a character stat array? God knows everyone was classified as Offensive because playing Defensive in SF5 meant eating shit and losing.
Now, this is a damn fine UI:

SFV:AE 1 month before DBZ; I understand their thinking on the timing, but they are not the ones holding power in the market at the moment. The timing isn't going to undercut DBZ sales at this point, just hurt their own. Why buy this when that is coming a month (possibly less) later?
(Edit)
Also really liking the select screen above; it's very unique and pleasant to look at. Not mega-hyped for the game, but it's definitely raising my interest level.
So when should they release 5AE... a week after DBZ? A month after? 6 months after?
Sooner is better than later. DBZ's release date will neither hurt nor help 5AE; I have a hard time conceiving of someone who doesn't already own SF5 but would be convinced to buy 5AE if only the game wasn't coming out a month before DBZ.
We all know the overwhelming majority of 5AE downloads will be upgrades from vanilla anyway.
