Said it before and I'll say it again, all the characters in DBZF seem to look and play exactly the same.

    Burden of the source material.

The music and the pacing gets me pumped up when I play it, so that's a plus. I'm intrigued by the new systems ArcSys is putting in between now and launch, so this still has me the most hyped.

    To each their own.

I recall reading a lot of comments over DBFZ where people said it felt like the gameplay was really simple. And of course the typical, "it's just a beta bro, it'll get better".

ArcSys did recently show some new mechanic where players fight over a dragonball so there is that.

capcom just gets a helluva lot of leeway on brand name alone, and always has, no matter how far astray they go, simply by virtue of being first. tons of other fighters sell better consistently but never draw the same numbers per tourney, except occasionally in japan. i don't expect dbz to be much different. i'm sure it will be well received and sell well, but even with character recognition as strong as street fighter i'm skeptical it will field huge tourneys.

If they put money behind it, people will play it.

No one likes playing SFV, but it still draws the biggest numbers because Capcom/Sony are throwing money at it.

Honestly? i would say yes. With all the show awards DBZ took home recently, there's no way the big players didn't take notice and see the potential to really cash in.

And for anyone that missed it, possibly the most badass episode of Dragon Ball ever just aired this weekend.

People keep saying this, but I have yet to see an explanation of what they mean.

E-League, Red Bull Kumite, etc. are invitationals and don't have big numbers. Prize pools themselves don't really generate entries; IJ2 had $600k added to prize pools this year and it finished 5th in entry numbers at Evo.

The whole "SF5 only does well because of corporate money" meme is pretty weak... and to the extent that any of that money is from Capcom, the competition only has itself to blame. It's not like Namco or WB are scraping pennies together to get by.

late edit: Even with an ESPN simulcast, SF5 absolutely destroyed every other game in Evo 2017 Twitch stream viewers. Corporation-funded prize pools does not explain why people want to watch it.

The same person that found out about the second V-Triggers and V-Skills a bit ago also found that AE is supposedly also coming with secondary V-Reversals and Critical Arts.

Secondary VRs (tied to VT2) makes sense. Secondary CAs seems like option overload for a mainline SF, unless they bundle everything in a package and you're basically picking O.Ryu or N.Ryu.

Zeku looks ok, nothing really stands out aside from whatever the hell he did to go change outfits. Maybe it's a claw mechanic like with Vega.

Seems more like his V-Skill. Prolly some Gen like Stance change as a V-Skill.

You were right, it is his V-skill. Still unclear if you actually need to hit with it to change to Yung Zeku or if you start the next round as his older version if you win with his younger version.

mmm i think you can use it at will without hiting, but i think it would be quite punishable if not used in combos/hit conifrms.

Seeing it on the Capcom Unity stream earlier, you can use it whenever to change forms and it's fairly quick, like Vega's claw on/off.
