I imagine half circle is tremendously easier for players on pad, which is mostly casuals. I still don't get how pad players play Gief well. It's a good change.

As long as you had the pad broken in a bit so your finger wouldn't get snagged it's not hard.
Thank God they removed any kind of texture from the DS4 pad, it's almost perfect (imo) from the get go. If only I could transplant that dpad to a controller with 6 face buttons.
Pretty sure on pad you can just wiggle your thumb and get an SPD, I know a good number of really decent pad Giefs.
i dont think the roster is following any formula, the devs are picking what they had in mind/people wanted. So far only popular on demand characters are in the roster (birdie was prolly more a suprise).
you have the given 3 icons: Ryu Ken Chun, Cammy was allways a very prominent character especially in 4. Charlie was demanded by alot of people, nercalli is obviously new. and Bison and Vega are well known and wanted.
Byrdie was a suprise chicken and i do believe we will get for the remaining spots: Juri, Alex, Sakura, Urien, Oro, Sagat + 1 new character. Karin is prolly planned but will come later as DLC (they would be dumb to not plan her as DLC for sale when whe was almost allways #1 on any votelist)
I'm liking what I see so far from Vega even if it's only complete monkeys mashing on a stick in each bid of him... His face actually looks fine on the character select screen... Really nice actually. And on his win pose/super animation. My guess is the non cinematic model doesn't have its finishing touches yet. His idle fight stance is mad lame though.

Necalli/Vega movelist. No upkicks q.q
But 2 different alpha counters.
The DLC model makes it pretty irrelevant to really speculate who the original 16 roster is. I'm betting within 2 years all the major characters people expect will be in the game and the roster will be pushing on Ultra size. Roster overinflation is one of my biggest concerns about the game.
I like choice. But it's hard enough to balance a game with 40 characters, it would be an absolute nightmare with 60 or 80 as it goes on.
tbh it's hard to balance a game with 8 characters
Yeah, I don't want 40 fucking characters either. Having waaay too many fucking characters is a huge problem. Good luck 'learning' all of your character's match ups. May I recommend you Elena as your secondary character? :kappa:
You guys just fucked up at character select, I do 50% per touch on Elena thanks to her wacky boxes![]()
So much cool info and matches to analyze, normals/walk speed/play styles and stuff and you guys argue for pages about the most inane bullshit...
Match at 8 min 45 seconds is sick as hell.
But noooo the game is going to be boring and too offensive and simple combos and q.q
At this point, nothing is going to change outside of frame/hotbox data. Small things but nothing fundamentally differen . They completely retooled Vega, more than ken. Necalli is completely new. But let's define OG for another page :D
You're the only idiot still bringing it up....
lmao at how disingenuous you are. You honestly read my post, and came to the conclusion that I have no idea what I'm talking about, even though I specifically broke down the game's flaws in detail, listed you 80% of the best 3s players within the game's 16 year history? I don't have a fundamental understanding of the game, even though I broke down to a science on how and why the game plays the way it does, and you posted a video that played out EXACTLY how I described it would be played? Really?
The rest of your post is a bunch of limp wristed crap about how wrong I am without you providing any counter point, and straight up making shit up (saying I didn't complain about how there's no zoning, when it clearly says in the 2nd paragrath that this game has no varied playstyles, and that zoners, grapplers, pokers all eventually became rushdown characters because the game inherently pushes in that direction).
But fuck all that, because it's all opinionated (even though my opinions are clearly -- to anybody with IQ over 100) are clearly stronger, but let's talk about the one point that isn't opinionated:
The vast majority of top 3s players and Gods are fkn terrible/garbage at every other fighting game, and it demonstrates in the culmination of the talents shown in SF4.
You are right, there are very few players that are actually good at multi fighting games, but that still doesn't change the fact that the 3s playerbase has LITERALLY ZERO top SF4 players.
SF4, currently, is the top gathering of all the best, most elite, most talented fighting game players across the genre. This is NOT debatable.
Top/elite SF4 players have come from almost every fighting game out there. You have Vampire Savior gods, Kof gods, Virtual Fighter gods, Marvel gods, CVS2 gods, and the list goes on.
Despite having an impressive 16 year history and countless 3s gods, none of them have shown they are good enough in SF4. This is another fact.
Nuki is not good enough. Kuroda isn't good enough. MOV, despite decent showing recently, has never even scratched top tier talent, nevermind elite.
Not a single 3s gods have shown they are good enough to compete at the top 8 level in the most prestigious fighting game in the world, drawing the biggest talent pool, thus the most competitive fighting game, bar none.
Even Halo has produced more SF4 gods than 3s LOL. Snakeeyez has done more in SF4 than all the 3s gods combined in SF4. This clearly tells me 3s is a game with either a very low skill ceiling, or the skillset needed to be good at 3s are completely different that of those needed for traditional SF.
lol @ you thinking you know more about 3s than me. I know more about a game I hate than you ever will.
Go ahead, test my 3s knowledge and history, nikka.
