I'm enjoying at least the beta portion a little bit just because it's kinda fun to annihilate people with zero fundamentals (I have something like a 90% win rate with Karin).

I've played the various versions of the game for probably less then 4 hours total at this point and I just stare at the training screen because there's nothing to practice. The game is just too goddamn simple.

I've been enjoying the beta but I think it's for the same reason Krandor said, just fun dusting scrubs, especially with a grappler in shitty netcode.

As far as the game being interesting to watch/play, I think that is going to come down a lot to once people get their shit together on how to play, meter management will be super important.

Vega is the best character by a mile in this game, right now. His sweep basically beats everything.

I'm definitely going back to guilty gear. If the game continues to be like this, it's already taking a shit. Beta 1 cammy is by far the most fun character i've played, r mika's def 2nd. My hopes are still high, but i definitely also need to remove my sf4 goggles i guess.

They need to open the combo system a bit if this game is going to have any kind of realistic lifespan. Every character is stuck with basically doing the same exact combo every single time because they've limited the linking options so much. They also probably need to do something about fireballs because they're kinda useless right now.

The V-Skill/Trigger stuff is a decent enough system, and I think the input buffer is fine as is.

There is like no mixup at all. None of the nonsense currently hitting will in a week because it's just knowing which moves are considered an overhead.

It's retarded easy to block the jump-ins the correct direction. The only time I ever get hit by a jump in is if I try to AA and it doesn't work (for whatever reason?).

Yeah that too. I'm not a huge fan of the way jump attacks are handled. Each character seems to only have the one button that can be used as a crossup (I think it's mk for the entire cast?) and nothing else. There's really not any kind of ambiguous setups once you get a feel for each characters jump arc.

without some changes they're going to manage to somehow alienate both the OGs and the 09ers lol...with no real lights confirms SF4 players don't really know how to approach things, but that same lack of stun on lights makes mashing jab or throw out of strings extremely effective, so OGs can't frame trap either.

Vega is def tops in current build. Bison is up there. I still think Mika is fun as hell but she loses hard to just mashing grab. Netplay is still 90% terrible but the input buffer helps.

Your internet service must be terribad Calli. This netcode is freaking amazing. I got to hand it to them on that. One out of like every 20 matches has just unplayable teleport mode, but that is only because they are allowing matchmaking across countries. It feels like offline mode.

You've been lucky if the bad connections are that rare but yeah, good connections are fantastic.

idk, currently says I got 89d/11u with pingtest looking fine so who knows. I just lost to teleport Ken who basically EX DP'd me from fullscreen lol

I get average 900/450 with fiber, and it's flat out fantastic.

Rollback tends to favor the person with the worse connection so you're gonna run into goobers that still think wifi is ok and have terrible matches from time to time but eh. That's all fighting games.

Their servers are updating every 30 minutes (45?). So you must have lost somewhere between or before winning and the update.
