Gotenks didn't beat Buu. Vegetto unfused before they could finish the job. Hell, even in GT Gogeta unfused and Goku had to fight Shenron by himself. Not surprising that Vegetto isn't going to get the job done this time, either

Vegetto would have stayed fused forever if Buu´s stomach acid or whatever didn´t unfuse them so...I guess that was more of a convenient coincidence than them failing to finish the job fused. Of course you´re still right though.

Convenient plot device. With how much stronger Vegito was than Buu (it was worse than kid buu vs ssj2 Vegeta really), 0% chance it would have ended that way.

Gogeta outpowered him by far, but Goku ended up using a Universal Spirit Bomb to finish the job

Goku never beats a villain with his own strength though.
Raditz - > Goku died.
Vegeta -> Goku got beat pretty much, lucky to survive that one.
Frieza -> He won the fight but didn't actually kill Frieza.
Cell -> Gohan beat him.
Buu - > with the help of dragon balls and spirit bomb he was finally able to take him out. Not his own strength.
Beerus -> Lost
Frieza again -> Whis had to rewind time for him to win.

Goku might be the 'hero' but fights have always ended on gimmicks and asspulls.

As far as Cell goes, I won't give Gohan credit for that one either. That was a combination of everyone teaming up on him and gang fucking Cell, lol. W/o them and Goku's coaching, Gohan woulda got bodied.

Goku also won the rematch w/ Freiza in terms of THEIR fight. He just got fucked by the henchmen. But yes the part about saving the world and all comes from Whis time reversal (but the fight itself, Goku still won on his own)

To be fair, if nobody else was there, Gohan wouldn't have lost half his power taking that hit for Vegeta. Could have handled Cell np if not for that.

Debatable at best. Regular perfect Cell, sure. Super Perfect Cell? That could have gone either way. If Cell has attacks that can do that much damage to Gohan, who's to say he wasn't capable of landing one on his own?

After the Zenkai boost, Cell was on another level
