He found out around halfway through the arc didn't he? After Trunks came for dinner, after they got their asses whooped the first time in the future, during when they came back and trained/learned Mafuba, and then went back again... I think?

Uub hasn't technically been introduced in the story yet. By the time he makes his appearance, Pan is like 3 or 4 years old or so. So he's still a couple years away from even meeting Goku and going off to train with him
