It was entertaining. Get over it. DBS has had fillers that have been 10000x better than any continuous running show. Some fillers in those shows have been decent but no where near this.

I'm on this boat. Episode got hyped but when I saw it I was pretty disappointed. I wouldn't count that as him getting serious at all. If he doesn't get back to at least SSJ2 glory, let alone mystic or even SSB by some miracle, just don't even bother.

I thought the episode had a pretty good and decently animated fight. Gohan's clearly being built up for the new arc. I am a little concerned that his Mystic form is a casualty of the series direction though.

I'm not a traditional Gohan fan (as in I don't think he should get back into the main cast, and get just decide to start fighting again, get ssjblue, etc.), but I do like his character. I just take him for a family man now, rather than a martial artist. So I enjoy episodes like these because this is the Gohan that I like.
