All this criticism of Goku and comparing him to Z takes very little into context.

Goku in Super for the most part has been living in a period where there is no tangible threat to the universe.

In Z, Goku was almost constantly dealing with threats to first his planet, then a bunch of planets and tons of people, then finally the entire universe.

Think about the parts of Super where shit is on the line. There's only a couple notable instances, but Goku has been pretty much the same as Z when he had to get serious.

The only egregious part of the anime that's made him look like a total dumbass was part of the Black saga, and that was so bad that even the official manga counterpart wrote it out and poked fun at it.

Whole universe > Tournament(which he reinstated and reminded about so this is pretty much on his shoulders, whoever loses trillions and trillions of people die because of Goku).

I echo the "why is the Z-team there" arguments. My main complaint with the DBZ universe is how small they make galaxies/universes.

Even if Goku/Freeza/Buu were the strongest in our galaxy, there's a gazillion more galaxies out there... in every single universe.

How are all the strongest beings in alllllll of the universe on one planet.

Fat Buu is just under SS3 in power level right? He's also got some crazy other abilities and can absorb his opponents (won't use that here obviously). He's the strongest non-saiyan ally by leagues.

He's also basically the absorbed manifestation of the Grand Supreme Kai (basically the god of this Universe).

He's probably under SSJ3 but power levels are bullshit so anything can happen.

I wasn't doubting Bu's strength guys, but the fact that he's completely unreliable cause he may just not feel like fighting and take a nap or something.

I think you're all thinking far too much into it. That poster hyping up the fight will probably be the equivalent of Pui Pui, Yakon and Dabura, where 2 is a joke despite the looks, and the 3rd actually poses a threat.

That short wolf will probably think Buu's a joke, then Buu turns him to chocolate and eats him for comedy.

Given Gohan's years of complacency, Buu is easily the group's #3.
Like everyone's saying, it'll all depend on his willingness to participate. If someone prevents him from getting food or kills his god damned dog, fight's over.

Then again, they could easily write him out of contention again for comedy like they did in the Universe 6 tourney.
