He exceeded 300 to just around 400 (there's a flashback of him training at 400~ when he showed off his Super Saiyan form vs Android 19. By this point the capsule wasn't red anymore but of a normal colour).


Question for this new anime series: I think we're 2 eps in if I counted properly, but anyways, are they still trying to make everyone relevant? Are they STILL trying to bring in/make Emperor Pilaf and his 2 henchmen to the plot?

There's a Spanish Language (not-actually-so-shaky) shakycam version with very poor English subs making the rounds. Watched it this weekend. Video is pretty stable, can only really identify it as a pirate due to the poor framing and audible theatergoer reactions.
The sub is awful though; text-to-dialog sync slips pretty often, and by 3-6 seconds, so you have to re-sync with VLC every 15 minutes or so. Spanish VO actors are freaking awesome.

The movie sucks. Was hard to take any part of it seriously. The film absolves itself of serious conflict in the first few scenes by positing the existence of 4 beings already stronger than the primary antagonist, and further demonstrating the various ways the rules of the dragon balls themselves seem to spit in the collective faces of this universe and its gods. So, because there's no actual threat, the plight of the characters warrants no investment.

For that matter, can't find myself really getting into any of the new DBZ Super media. Toei seems to think the brand has achieved Pokemon levels of recognition and reverence, and is therefore an integral part of their national identity that must have its integrity preserved. As such, they seem to be taking the safest routes possible regarding production, storytelling, dialogue, etc. Sad, sad, sad.

Hopefully T4S calls it quits before they ever get to this stuff.

Why would you want that? They do fucking amazing with the shittiest of material. They already did the story of Bardock or w/e that new special was, and it was far worse than anything else that's been released lately. But the TFS version of it was some of their best work.

It's not worthy of their attention. There's nothing of substance here -- no risks are being taken, and as consequence there is no material worth satirizing.
T4S does incredible work, and bless them for it; for quality assurance, their pace has to be slow. They wouldn't approach this material until like 2023. At that point: who cares? I hope they've all advanced to much bigger and better things by then.

The show has been like that too. Slow as hell and full of fluff. Even the original first episode of DBZ (not even Kai) had Raditz show up, antagonize Goku and kidnap Gohan. So far we've had Beerus... eating and blowing up random planets. Goku... training. Vegeta... being a mediocre dad and... training. And all the other characters on a cruise ship. IN 3 EPISODES.

Show has been incredibly boring so far honestly. And next episode we're apparently getting 3 baddies who haven't been relevant since the DB-era looking for the dragon balls. Great.

At least the older movies had some cool shit, as non-canon as they were. SSJ3Goku/Vegeta/Gogeta fat and proper vs Janemba (which included Trunks and Goten fighting zombie Hitler which was fucking awesome lol). SSJ3 Goku vs that Godzilla rip-off. The first 2 Broly's (Bio-Broly was... >_> ). Even Cooler and Bojack had good moments at least.
