i believe that its basically just a tv version of the movie until after goku and beerus meet/fight/goku gets ssgod. i think the show will take off from there into the implications of ssgod, the implications of beings in the universe that are gods compared to even goku/vegeta, and itll probably climax with how goku and vegeta can help beerus and weiss deal with some threat that comes to them from their level

Again. The new Bardock special was even worse than this shit. Going back in time and fighting Friezas ancestor as the first SS? Absolute crap from beginning to end. Still one of TFS funniest videos.

I mean, really guys, every movie (except for original Bardock and history of trunks) was just fucking awful lol. They all made 0 sense and all followed the same formula.

I detested the new Bardock movie. The mini Freeza, and the inhabitants of that planet looked ridiculous.

The 2 specials (Bardock and Trunks) worked great because it was nice story and not 20 mins of the villain (besides Movies 1 and 2) having an one sided fight, until some induced power up allows Goku to one shot the villain.

I took it as the race really. The lower gods all feared frieza buteven if its not real canon, he was much younger than his brother amd his father didnt seem all that older. So the fear was there from before him.

Heh, cant talk about bad writing here when the entire Frieza saga is a farce on its own. It took goku 6 days to go from PL whateverthefuckVegatawas to lolSuperSaiyan. If anything, what the fuck was taking Frieza so long to do in 4 months. Can you imagine what 4 months of hardcore training would produce for goku?

Not to mention during the Cell Saga in the hyperbolic time chamber where he and Gohan went for nearly a full year worth of training.

In all fairness (although not really) they did say that Goku didn't train as hard as he could have from Freeza - Android Saga because he was training with Gohan and not putting in as much as he could. Also same with hyperbolic time chamber Gohan was shocked that Goku was able to raise his power level further the first time because he spent all his time mentoring Gohan. From the Saiyan Saga to Freeza he at least got two massive Zenkai boost as well as time on his own to train. The next time he got to spend some time away from Gohan Cell - Buu he was able to reach another level yet again.

Long story short, Gohan is a little bitch and it's understandable why Goku is such a terrible father. Gohan holds him back.

Yes. He had the power required, but not the motivation. He didn't have the anger yet, especially for a guy as thick-skulled and derpy as Goku.

You gotta wonder how far he would have transformed if Gohan had died instead.

I'm surprised anyone dying would motivate/anger him. He lives in a universe where he can just wish someone back at the drop of a hat, and he's personally been to the afterlife, which turns out to be just a sweeter version of his current life.

I do wonder what is the real trigger for Super Saiyin though. First it appeared to be "extreme duress + anger" = breaks the threshold. Vegetta finally got it by pushing his body to the max and finally breaking through.

With Gohan it kind of shifted to "find what you're fighting for" so it became a motivation thing.

With Goten and Trunks it seemed like "you just get SS once you reach a certain power level."
