Because people wouldnt shut up about it and it was free page views and ad revenue to run another one.
"Why the fuck", indeed.
If they were gonna do a week gap I wouldn't have done it right before the BS comedy ep >_>
Anyone else jarred a little by Goku's personality in Super?
It's full circle in a bad way.
Goku was completely consistent in Dragon Ball. The entire way through he was goofy, naive, and funny.
He gets a little more serious at the start of DBZ, but he really maintains the goofy personality until he gets out of the healing pod on Namek.
Then everything changes. Goku isn't really the same for the rest of DBZ. He turns into this suddenly all-wise cerebral figure who never reveals his hand. It's a total 180 and comes out of nowhere.
Then this comes out and all of a sudden he's back to how he was at the start of DBZ. The fuck?
Ehh. The problem with him in DBZ is that he was constantly preparing for a new fight. He was goofy when there was a break, but that happened so rarely. There was literally no on screen down time for him where he wasn't preparing for a fight that he Knew was going to happen, so he had no chance to be that goofy.
Not watched super but to discuss the other points:
Vegeta is also relegated to the idiot in recent media. The best of personification of Vegeta comes from when he was forced to work with Goku post-Vegetto fusion inside Buu's stomach. From that point onwards I very much enjoyed the interaction between the 2 (in anime), and this applies all the way into GT as well where they did interact. Vegeta was super serious, but contains elements of shock/surprise due to Goku's goofy behaviour, at the same time respecting that he is in fact stronger. The final 3 episodes has him being in a sort of serious but chilled state. He's less rude, doesn't shout, and talks calmly to Goku. It was just really nice development to see. Yet it felt badass.
The downfall started with that 10 year anniversary special where they argued like 2 typical boys during the initial stint of the special. Further made worst in Battle of Gods. Not sure about the latest movie and in Super.

About Goku goofiness, he was a rather goofy during the fight with Freeza until he hacks his power up. I agree since then his goofiness in fights never returned until his fight with Kid Buu, but to be fair he hasn't really been in many fights since then (he was goofy in the after-world tournament if that counts for anything). Android 19 was built up to be this hugely terrible threat, but it was interrupted. Then it was him vs Perfect Cell, Majin Vegeta, Fat Buu and Kid Buu.
Toei rofl
I can't. I just can't.
lmao that animation quality on that ep was trash tiercould have just copied the movie and made our lives easier lol.
The best.
Oh Japan... hahaha, how the mighty has fallen. Anime too expensive to produce without outsourcing to koreans and chinese, eh?
I haven't watched the last few episodes. Are those actually real? They seem like what I drew as a kid
Is it only the raw out?
That's some San Gaku shit right there. They're probably rushing like fuck because their schedule sucks ass. Usually things like this I'd say they'll fix it in BD but...this I dunno.
I hope they fix your spelling in post.
What? No need for your fanclub nonsense, take your butthurt elsewhere.
Wait, it really looks like this? This isn't 1996, what the fuck.
Shit looks like it was drawn in MS Paint LMAO. I'm sure they're rushed as fuck and should fix it on the BD release. Still, fucking wow.
Feel like i'm watching pain fight from Naruto![]()
