Freeza and Cell are the same one. He never went back home as far as I know, he just went 3 years into the future to skip the training arc, so nothing actually changed from that.
Super is a good point though I guess. But regardless, I think the rings Zamasu has would just be for his universe only, so its irrelevant what Trunks did.
Does the one where he used it but got killed by Cell count? (creating the series Cell)
That's a 3rd timeline that we don't talk about because essentially Earth is essentially destroyed (no Z fighters, no future trunks). I'm joking, but not, see below.
Since DBZ, we've had F. Trunks come back to warn every one, Cell to jump back in time to take some androids, and now Super Trunks to get some revenge on Black. That's 3/4 past changes accounted for.
I can't recall the Android/Cell arc that well, so some questions. Doesn't Gero activate 18 and 17 in the real timeline? How does Cell originally come to the past if he had to kill Trunks to get his time machine, who was already in the past trying to deal with the androids? Also, the real (from our POV) timeline's Cell was destroyed before he even came out of the test tube right?

That explains the 4 timelines.
If the timeline that Trunks dies in (where cell takes the time machine) already had him destroy the Androids with the stop circuit, then how does he not know about the existence of Cell already (since he already went into the past twice, once to warn and once to help with the fight)?
Thats not true because the Trunks that gets killed is from Timeline 3.
The Trunks that came during Cell saga and the one that is there now is the same Trunks from Timeline 2.
Decided to just forget it. To accept what that wiki is postulating, you'd have to accept the existence of another alternate timeline that the Trunks that died went to in order to find blueprints for a Stop Remote, or that the F. Trunks we see now is a copy from a timeline that went exactly the same way up until Trunks came back the second time, otherwise the original Trunks would have been strong enough to defeat Cell any ways.
In fact, my original statement makes sense if you consider that the compounding changes to the past gave rise to 19 and 20, since they were never made until after Trunks changed the timeline (after Cell already had changed the timeline, which only happened cause the Trunks he killed changed the timeline).
All this loop shit can make sense if you try hard enough, but as evidence by Beerus's sudden weak point, the writers are just making it up as they go. Not worth the time I already put into trying to get it lol.
My head canon for the extra androids gas always been, That Vegeta and Picolo were able to defeat 19, then Gero went to activate the others, just like the current timeline. But all those people died soon after, so noone really knew what happened for sure. I also imagine 16 was active, but with no Goku to kill, he just went off to live in nature lol.
But yeah, they just make it up as they go, so w/e
Nevermind that if you include Trunks visits 1-3, and Cells visit, those account for the 4 time ring copies. Now, if you include the visit to the past by the Trunks that died, well...
Wouldn't those time variants be of universe 7 and not 10 anyway which they are the kai of?
If we're going to be assuming that one universe's time altering impacts alternate time lines in another, it seems rather unlikely that only universe 7 would be the only one.
I was also under the impression from the translation that those rings are the result of the kaioshin's messing with the past rather than spectators.
Actually, if each ring formed when a new timeline was made from some one going into the past, then there's 5 timelines atm.
But those should only be for universe 7, unless for some reason U10 holds them all...

They never specified if universes had exclusive timelines. I'd doubt it though

Well in this case they're no different universes in terms of distance, they're parallel universes which should have their own timeline right? Or would time-travel have an over-arching effect on multiple-parallel universes?
By the fact that they can travel to "parallel" universes, it means they can affect said universe. If that's the case then I'd imagine they all share the same timeline, just in different places of the multiverse.
That also means there's 5 versions of All-chan, I wonder if that'll come up at some point.

Who the hell is All-chan?
The short guy rules over everything. Everyone of the gods were scared of him at the end of the tournament.

Oh Zen-chan.
He's the King of All, now affectionately called All-chan.
