Since Trunks is from an alternate U7 timeline, the Zamasu there should be different from the one in the normal timeline. While I can accept alternate Zamasu eventually reaching the same conclusions about 'justice' etc and wishing for immortality, why would he wish for or create a Goku-based servant since Goku would have died in that timeline long before having a chance to encounter him?

Pretty decent episode, but given that we know the titles for 60, and 61 it's safe to say whatever was accomplished won't change the events of the future. It'll be interesting to see what plot twist they throw at us with how Zamasu is still alive in the future, unless immortality means that even if he gets deleted in the past or a different universe that he's perfectly safe in another.

The comics have already stated that there are a ton of multiverses for universe 7. Anime hasn't said such a thing but we know there's at least 2-4(maybe 5?) of just U7.

And yes Beerus has been a great edition to DB. I hope we can see him fight again.

Beerus and Whis. Where have these two been all my life? I love how Whis can be so casually formal and polite, while at the same time, you know he could just straight body anything out there if it ever came to it. Calm, friendly people who have serious power are always my favorite in fiction. Wielding power, yet not being corrupted into abusing it maliciously is so awesome.

Everybody always wanted more DBZ to see more fights starring the people we grew up loving, but shit, I've never been more happy to be completely surprised by something I never knew I wanted. Beerus and Whis -are- the show. Idiot Goku is still idiot Goku and that trope is as boring as ever, but goddamn, the new personalities that Super brings has just been an awesome trip.

He was actually a lot more serious in dbz. They dumbed him up for Super. He was always naive, but when it came to the fights he was always serious about it. When Raditz showed up? Nigga was srs. When Vegeta/Nappa showed up? Nigga was srs. Rolls up to Namek on the Ginyu squad? Srs. Rolls up on Frieza? Nigga was srs.

He was goofy when there were no threats around; it didn't start leaking into his 100% of the time personality until Super.

They went back to Toriyama's vision of a tropey idiot for the gags. Its just so goddamn overt in Super that it annoys me far more than it used to. It does, however, lead to more organic Vegeta hatred of him, as Vegeta calling our dub Superman Jesus figure "idiot" all the time was a bit strange.

He's now back to being a 5-year-old in a man's body, so yes, its extremely fitting. Perfect for portraying a brain-damaged guy who smashed his head in as a baby.

Stupid in a naive way, (like giving Cell a sensu because he wanted a fair fight vs Gohan). Goku in Super is stupid in a "I'm a 5 year old" way" (gotta be silly about everything)
