I still can't get passed how busy each turtles design looks. It reminds me of a shitty 90s Cartoon that was just old people making what they think the kids wanted. You know, the random rap, electric guitar rifts in the music, and so on. Like Street Sharks basically.

If it works for the kids today, I guess its fine but for me, its just way too much CGI and explosions.

I cant imagine there were any licensing rights issues remaining from when the entire property was sold. Maybe for the original movies where they gripped everything tighter, and that's why they weren't named Bebop and Rocksteady.

....so basically...the original TMNT cartoon and movies back then? If so, then they're being faithful in this respect.

As one of the biggest fans of everything TMNT back in the day, I don't mind what they're doing with this reboot (although I first had a problem with whats-her-tits playing April...but then remembered April in essence is just another whats-her-tits). Its a fun movie that you can enjoy by turning off your brain and not being butthurt over every single detail. I take this like I took the Fast and Furious movies...not day 1 material, not Oscar material, just enjoy it for what it is.

The difference between (the most recent) TMNT and F&F movies is one you turn your brain off and still go "Wow, this is fucking stupid" and the other you turn your brain off and go "Fuck yeah, this is so fucking stupid! It's amazing!"
