Personnel. If the Rams QB situation is still up in the air next season, the OC is going to look bad regardless. Also it's an out. If you want to coach in the future, you can't just quit without there being another offer on the table. If no other NFL team was looking at him to take one of their coaching positions, then he essentially had to reset.

Look at it as, taking 1 step back to take 3 steps forward. If he does well at Georgia, he will have a platform to move into a better college coaching position (HC) or a better NFL team (as OC/HC).

Also I feel like there is less turnover and more stability in college, from a staff perspective. Obviously you live and die by your recruiting team, but in many ways that can be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Cooper should be good in the NFL. Collins probably not. Not spectacular in coverage and was more of a run stopping safety. Yeldon also decided to go pro. I hope his combine is good, otherwise he's probably looking at rd 3-4. I don't blame him for going pro with more years left until 30.
