Christ, Florida State/Jimbo. Reign in your players. Same to be said about Alabama too.
Least there hasn't been anything super major about Auburn outside of paying players and doing a lotta weed?

Kinda surprised the prosecution released the video because, and maybe I'm in the minority, I don't think it helps their case. I mean, yes, there's the outrage of seeing him punch her in the face, but that voice was there from the start. Now, there's also a voice saying she should be charged with battery(?) and that he can make an argument for self-defense.
Spoiler: show
Beyond that, however, I find it interesting the responses to this story that were running a week prior to the stories of JPP and the Bucs CB. A week ago, it was about how he shouldn't have fought back, he should know he's a scholarship athlete, etc. Now, the discussion is about how people who make their living using their bodies need to not be so reckless and do w/e it takes to protect their bodies.
Supposedly Jimbo called a meeting with entire team today and laid down the law so to speak. Among other things, all players are banned from bars/clubs, and Jimbo and university president John Thrasher are arranging to have former NFL players, alumni, law enforcement, financial planners etc. to meet with players and to explain the financial and professional consequences of stupid decisions.
Only need to convince one person on a jury, and the law never says anything about the extent of the force (nothing about causing injury or anything like that).
Eh, these are both misdemeanor battery charges. Florida law for a misdemeanor battery is a max 1 year jail or probation and a $1000 fine. I'd be surprised if either of these went to a jury.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/...-attorney-saysAn attorney for Florida State Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook told ESPN on Monday night that the player did not hit a woman last month and that battery charges are a result of pressure in Tallahassee based on recent high-profile cases in the media.
Yeah just saw that. Cook's attorney says he will not be accepting any plea deal and he wants to clear his name by getting the charges dropped or a not guilty verdict, so it sounds like this one could be going to trial after all. Or it could just be pre-trial lawyer posturing, which also seems likely.
SEC Media Days, Auburn was voted to win the SEC Championship...but Alabama was voted to win the Western Division. wat.
http://hosted2.ap.org/APDEFAULT/3478...b7a6216dfb88dfA federal judge approved a $60 million settlement for college athletes in a class-action lawsuit filed against the NCAA and video-game maker Electronics Arts.
The plaintiffs in the case against the NCAA and EA claimed they illegally used college football and basketball players' names and likenesses in video games for years. Players who have appeared in EA's NCAA football and basketball games have until July 31 to make a claim as part of the settlement.
Labor Day weekend in 2017 is gonna be a wild weekend in Atlanta. In addition to FSU/Alabama on Saturday night, Monday night will feature Tennessee/Georgia Tech. Both games played in the Falcons' new stadium. This brings the total number of teams that get to play in that stadium before the Falcons do to four.
ACC Media Days...somebody let something slip into the official media guide... http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2015/...ia-guide-curse
Braxton Miller has told Sports Illustrated that he is switching to an H-Back. He *could* play QB in certain packages but he will mostly line up as a WR and also do punt returns.
