Generally speaking, when people speak of free speech issues they speak of the legal right to put a message out there.

Sony had no legal obligation not to release the film regardless of threats... so in that sense it is not a free speech issue. It really depends on which angle you want to approach this from. That said, Anonymous isn't your personal army. For them to do things when it is in their particular interest to do so only makes sense.

As funny as that would be, I believe people are saying that Sony is blocking the creators(edit: the production crew that doesn't include Sony, I'm sensing someone is going to say something here so I'll just edit this now) of the movie's free speech to show the movie. Or perhaps the movie theatres that want to show it or etc and that Sony is prohibiting them.

Because I highly doubt people are trying to say that North Korea is violating Sony's free speech.

Either way, I don't think this falls under freedom of speech. And it's not even the main concern that I have.

Holy shit people think a free speech issue can only pertain to rights held by Americans? I'm talking about it in general terms. Artists getting threatened over what they create because it hurt someone's feeling is a free speech issue to me. Sony canceling the movie only empowers those threats.

Clearly there is an issue outside of the rights of Americans. Morally, whoever carried out the attack is in the wrong; where do you go from there?
I don't have much to say about this aside from the comment that was made about Anon not wanting to fight a battle that does not pertain to them as if to call them hypocrites (because I also don't care all that much); but this is outside the scope of what they would normally handle and they don't seem to particularly care about it.

Half of my ancestors were raped/killed and their kids or some of the older generation still talk today. They freak out whenever North Korea is mentioned.

Well, for them the bite may be there because SK is in range, but they wouldn't deny that NK barks shit all the time either. Which is what I mean when I say I don't think it's all that crazy that they are threatening anyone.

There is a difference in how South Korea responds to being threatened and how America responds.
History kinda shows that we don't respond in a positive way to being threatened.
