I was about 2 seconds from buying divinity original sin, but I saw it was on my brothers wishlist so I guess I should check with him first and maybe get the 2 pack deal. Looks really great though. Also, I saw mention of the diablo types here, the new gauntlet game is pretty fun, but it sounds like it suffers from a lack of content. And it's pretty difficult on some of the quests labeled 'hard', but that may just be not being in-depthly familiar with the game. And another recommendation for XCOM if you are cool with tactical, turn-based strategy games. Your troops love to make you facepalm at their RNG actions lol.

What's that? You have a 98% chance to hit? Let me just miss that for you. Meanwhile the aliens will have like 20% chance to hit. Crit. Panic your medic who will then run and aggro a bunch of chryssalids that zerg over to you disemboweling your 3 other dudes while your sniper in the far back is wondering wtf everyone else is doing. Then you somehow manage to beat the level and get back to the map and 3 countries dropped out.

God I love that game. It's one of those games where you think you're going to play for a little bit before bedtime and next thing you know the sun is coming up.

RPGs tend to be limited to ports on Steam, but if you're willing to expand to genres like roguelikes and metroidvanias, there are heaps of indie games to pick up. Dungeons of Dredmor and Desktop Dungeons for roguelikes, stuff like Rogue Legacy and Risk of Rain are a little more action-y, and then titles like Dust: An Elysian Tail and Valdis Story for metroidvanias. Also, it's not Steam and I don't know about mac-compatibility, but GOG has a fairly extensive library of older computer RPGs (Ultima, Might and Magic, Baldur's Gate) that could be worth checking out.

Path of Exile should be on this list too. Best ARPG I've played since D2.

My list of RPG's I would recommend are Destiny, Scared 3, Dark Souls II, and the 2015 upcoming The Division - which I have already pre ordered.

Pier Solar is decidedly OK. I grabbed the PS4 version during a sale last week. It's good for nostalgia since it was originally a Genesis game, but that also means it's a Genesis game and lacking in anything remotely resembling modern features.

If you can get it in the 5-8 buck range it's worth a spin.

Also if you're not sure about Ys, Ys Origin has a demo you can try to see if you like it.

With that being said, add me >_>

Doubling the shout outs for Divinity and XCOM. Both are fun as hell. Dragon Age: Inquisition is stealing my life atm, but if you haven't played the other two I'm not sure how it would be to jump in the third.

Xcom is indeed fantastic but god damn at the RNG for that game.
