Nidhogg is already established as a major antagonist of Ishgard in the Dragoon quests. He's been fighting Ishgard for hundred of years.

Reset is either 12am or 1am PST, I forget. Maintenance is over after the reset and if it's anything like any other major patch they will purposely not bring servers up until after weekly reset so there is no unfair advantage.

And only crappy thing about having something be a major antogonist is that it will be piss easy unless it's related to the Alexander raid. So I kind of hope he isn't a major story boss and just some side boss they can make at least somewhat difficult

I can wait, but still waiting for more FFIV than the boring main theme and our beloved fat chocobo theme. You've got 4 battle themes, The Red Wings, the cave theme, illusive world theme and many others.

I could totally see a Giant of Babil theme going the next time we dive deep into one of the Empire's techobabble fortresses.

Last time they screwed it up by an hour, someone pointed it out to them and they extended the maintenance by an hour just to prevent it from happening before weekly reset. That said, I think the weekly reset is at 3am PST atm because of DST?

I hope we get a new remix of The Last Battle, it was fine to recycle for Ultros but this deserves better. I was looking foraward to Echidna's battle but sadly it seems like they got rid of it

I'd love something similar to the Black Mages remix, but I'm not holding my breath.

I always loved the eerie background music just before the fight.

On an unrelated note, I still want to fight Zeromus.

I don't think and do hope that some of the older FF villains come back like the Cloud of Darkness did. Going to Menphina and fighting Zeromus; some ancient temple and fighting Chaos/Garland; going to the N-Zone and finding Exdeath. Once the villains become more "human" like Kefka, Sephiroth, Ultimecia, etc are when they should not try to port to XIV imo

Also, I made a theory about "Before the Fall" relating to our losing touch with Hydaelyn.. I mean, from the trailer, that part, while not referring to the fall, seems to be happening To see that we really do "lose" the Echo/Hydaelyns grace or she is unable to hear us, if even for a little bit... I do wonder how this will play out. Also, It looks like maybe the Cutscenes are going to be a notch above terrible, we might actually see some action! (in my opinion, WoTG FFXI has better cutscenes than XIV atm ._., and no, age isn't in excuse, they have the technology etc)

(at least, I interpreted Minfilia screaming to Hydaelyn and not getting a response, plus the imagery of our crystals shattering as Hydaelyn no longer being able to hear us... which makes me still believe she is like, an almighty Primal gave birth by our races because of the Calamity... and not that we're essentially in an era of peace, or to the common man, an era of peace... she is weakening. - That or the Ascians are fucking with her)
