At least I picked up something... Rocl I'm curious as to your thoughts on this, why do you think Hydaelyn is no longer able to hear us, or at least, Minfilia?

Is there any lore that lends to speculation at the moment or will we just not know until its released.

This close to patch release I don't think it's worth speculating too much.

Hydaelyn has been silent since we defeated Lahabrea, it's possible blessing us for the confrontation vs him so quickly after shielding us from Ultima was too much; possible whatever happened to the Island of Val weakened her further since it was an aetheric disturbance equivalent of Ultima. Possible the Ascians meddled, possible the more frequent and extreme (ha!) summoning of Primals has begun to take tell. Possible Midgardsormr's rousing has affected the Seal of Silvertear.

I doubt we have lost the Echo, we're able to understand Dravanians in the trailer so it stands to reason we still possess it. I also like to think the Midgardsormr is us utilizing the echo to communicate with him and his reaction is to fuck us up because he's a dragon.

It looks like we (or at least the Scions) travel to the aetherial realm, or maybe it's another off camera "explanation" CS like they did with the Lifestream/Aether in 2.3; either way Tupsimati's importance is likely to be revealed, ah the irony if the act of using Tupsimati to summon the Twelve is what precisely through the planet into the Seventh Umbral Era, eh? Though I'm prone to give Louisoix more than a passing benefit of the doubt that he knew full well what "key" Tupsimati was, though we know the Ascians have long desired these "keys" from 1.0.

Yeah, think we TECHNICALLY already have the 'original' 4 fiends..just in a roundabout way. I always think back to FFIX honestly but I know a lot tend to mean the ones from IV more than anything xD

The Ascians want Louisiox's staff, likely to summon Zodiark. With that new guy being more impatient, I think he possesses us, the player (for a cutscene), walks in and takes it by force and then releases control of us. Probably around the same time, Minfillia gets captured and taken to that aether/dark world we see.

I don't mind it in certain instances... I mean, it seems to fit Urianger a bit. I'd be lying if I said I didn't cringe every so often at how he delivers his lines though, it just doesn't feel natural or fluid.

I just mute the games audio I don't care to listen to anything. I'll unmute it after a major patch for dungeon music and what not hear what it's like and then after the first three days its back to mute.

Edit: I must have something turned off, because I have my game music but haven't heard a single voiced CS aside from mid-fight quotes like Gilgamesh. I always cringe when I see the trailer CSes because I never have to hear them in MY game, so they sound so awkward.

Urianger I'm afraid is never going to break the 'it's Balthier' association in my head but that's Gideon Emery in every game.

Voicework is getting better on the NA side with less cases of things feeling like they're being read off cards so I'm not quite ready to switch over to JP just yet.

This time the ENG version was better. JP trailer felt so flat and typical. While some people are still terrible (Papalymo I'm looking at you, Thancred and Nanamo too) generally it sounds better than it does at the start of MSQ. Holy shit that was bad.

For all the shit people give Alphinaud, hes one of the better voices in the cast. Aymeric reminded me of Vayne Solidor from XII and Lady Iceheart had some good lines for what little she voiced in 2.4.
