2014-15 NFL Divisional Weekend: Holy Fucking Refball, and the NinjaLotter Challenge

Davis has one thing missing from his resume, which is basically longevity. But 2k yards-- and the ONLY 2k yard rusher to win a Super Bowl-- 2 Super Bowls (and a major contributor to both), NFL MVP, Super Bowl MVP. He's the reason the Denver blocking system has proliferated the NFL-- others did it well, but NO ONE did it better. No one did it as well. I don't think he deserved first-ballot, but he definitely belongs.

Tim Brown and Coryell should have been ages ago, Haley should probably have been in, but he seems like a Senior entrant. Lynch feels that way, too.

These guys all belong in Canton, though I don't know that Warner or Pace belong is as first-year entrants, and I think Haley and Lynch are more likely senior entrants than modern-era. I'd put in David, Shields, Brown, Coryell, Seau, Tingelhoff (has to in as the only senior finalist), and maybe Warner.

Don't get me wrong, I think Davis was one helluva' running back. I like Elway now that I'm older and can appreciate what he did and what he was, but at the time, when I was younger, I hated him purely because my friend was a huge Bronco homer and Elway fanatic. Anyway, I was rooting against Denver in those Superbowls for sheer spite and watching Davis plow over everyone and then stretch to get another five yards at the point of every tackle on top of it was annoying as hell. The guy was really unbelievable. He just has one problem, which you already identified. He had no longevity.

Not a first ballot.

Pats v Ravens is easy money. Patriot defense will stop the run, Patriots secondary will make Baltimore's receivers disappear. You won't be able to find them, especially after the 1st quarter. How is Baltimore going to move the ball?

Patriots D hasn't allowed a 2nd half touchdown in its last six games, and Baltimore's offense isn't that special. I actually consider the Patriots a match up nightmare for them.

If you actually bet on games, this just seems like easy money. Patriots winning tomorrow by double digits.

The other three match ups seem to have a lot more room for unpredictable possibilities.

I have no problem with TD not being a first-ballot. But this isn't first-ballot; this is 9 years of eligibility. First time as a finalist, but that's not the same thing. He deserves in.

Warner gets in, no question. I don't have a problem with him going in first-ballot, but I don't think it's an insult if he waits a year or two, either. His story is huge, and for the Hall of Fame, that's a big one. He was involved in two all-time-great Super Bowls, winning one, losing the other to start a dynasty. Then he took the /CARDINALS/ to the Super Bowl, and was a few great plays and questionable calls from being the first QB to win the Super Bowl as the starter for two teams. Warner's biggest problem is actually how famous he is: that story gets old with a lot of the pressies I know, and it overshadows how good he really was.
