Wait, you mean aside from the poverty?
Once again, theres no LEGAL RAMIFICATION for leaving Russia. They're not going to go to jail if they get caught leaving Russia. This is not the same as "its difficult to leave due to financial constraints". Everyone deals with financial constraints, you should know.
Come on man. That's hitting below the fucking belt there.
lmooooooooo classic bg
Okay, but you said that there was nothing preventing them from leaving, which is actually not true. I appreciate that you clarified that you meant there were no legal restrictions against their leaving, but you should have said that if you didn't want to get the response I gave.
What's funny is that you all seem to think that it bothers me.
You said there's nothing prohibiting them from leaving. That's not true. Even for people who's existence isn't a crime, is extremely difficult. Add on the fact that they can't even drive now, and probably couldn't work even before, how the heck do you expect them to leave?
Why do you think I referenced Cuba of all places?!?
I wasnt saying it to offend or bother you, I was just point out that financial woes hit everyone.
Extremely difficult != impossible nor illegal. Thats my only point. There is nothing legitimately stopping you. Whether the path is full of broken glass, hot coals and alligators, thats a whole different ball park, but if Russia is so shitty to you, the option to leave IS available.
Nynja, you do realize to leave another country would have to take them in. It's not as simple as crossing the border and say I live here now.
I'm sorry, I didnt know there was a way to manipulate the lottery to increase your chances of winning without making extra bets.
Can you leave Russia multiple times to increase your chances of a successful emigration?
No, you cant, your lottery analogy fails, moving on.
More money makes it easier, same as the lottery.
Being that half my family is Russian, and that the majority of younger Russians hate Putin with a passion (think of him like a radical Republican here), fuck all of you saying "do away with Russia".
Blame the politics, not the people.
Also, seriously hey? Are you Russian? Russians and Ukrainians may not be the majority migrating to the U.S. (numbering maybe in the 10-20k range) but it's not like they're being forced to stay. The ruble itself, coupled with family and nationalism, is most of the reason people stay there. People don't want to leave their families and homes and come to a country where they're constantly ridiculed for not speaking English. There's a sense of pride in Russia that is incredibly strong and is a large part of why people "appear" to support Putin. He panders to the people like Willy Wonka in a children's parade.
I swear.
I never said anyone was being forcerd to stay anywhere, why do you people keep saying that? Moving to a new country is NOT that easy, and that goes triply so for people oppressed so much they can't even legally drive. That doesn't mean it's impossible, just extremely difficult. And, as you mentioned, there are many reasons they wouldn't want to leave, despite how hard it is for them there.
