That's just how the data was collected, but less than 1% of the US are incarcerated and less than 1% of the US are in active duty military service, so even though those populations are going to be higher in the 25-34 age group it's not going to significantly alter this education figure.

Late and very anecdotal, I have an Xbox friend who is Native, lives in Oklahoma and said some of the people he knew actually liked the various stereotypical 'Indian' team names, Chiefs, Braves, etc. Used to be a school team there called the Savages which I guess was a bit too far and got renamed.

Also anecdotal but my father in law is a contractor for the BIA and said the most popular NFL team apparel on the reservations in New Mexico is Redskins stuff.
