But it means they already have the gun training for when we all get armed to stop the school shooters. You want a woke dead kid?
Checkmate libtard.

An unfortunate chunk of vets I've met would just shoot the kids themselves if they had to teach.

As kids return to school, a new Texas law that was co-authored by Houston State Rep. Tom Oliverson is allowing groups to place "In God We Trust" signs on multiple campuses.Texas is on a roll lately.Last week, the Cy-Fair school board approved a new policy that says students must now get their parents permission to check out a book from the library, building on movements from Republicans to ban books from libraries.
On the reals though maybe the govt should fund education enough so teachers don’t have to spend thousands every year on classroom shit.
Oh, who am I kidding.
Imma deduct every penny. I always go over the limit within like the first month.
Just gotta convince them you can stab school shooters with more pencils and make armor out of stacks of paper and new books. Or have most schools shifted to laptops these days?
Maybe handguns for teachers will be a deductible expense.
I cannot imagine going out of pocket to pay for work stuff at my mediocre-paying job.
couldn't be me
Most schools have a 1:1 student-device policy, but most schools go with Chromebooks or iPads. It's horrendous.
I make it a requirement to have a true laptop to do debate since they absolutely must have access to the full version of Microsoft Word, but not all classes allow laptops as their electronic devices and that causes much anger when the student needs two devices.
What part of Microsoft Word is missing from laptop to tablet?
A keyboard. *nyuknyuk*
Had a conversation with coworkers about private school tuition. Then made a contest to see which school had the highest tuition.
Viewpoint edged out Harvard-Westlake because Viewpoint requires the student['s parents] supply their own MacBook from grade 6 onwards.
And its $46k/yr if anyone wanted to know. Top end private high school tuition is stupid. Hell the private high school my niece is attending is 2x the cost of a year at a University of California school.
Specifically for debate, the students absolutely must use an Office macro system called Verbatim. This only works on full-fledged Office.
Chromebooks have to use Google Docs. iPads have a stripped down mobile version.
Yeah but these are not the types of families that get miffed about buying students more devices. I'm friends with the current/remaining HWL debate coach and the other one that just left. Wolfgang Puck's kid gave them both a full on prepared turkey for Thanksgiving. Marlborough and Polytechnic are the two other super rich private high schools around here that do debate. They have way more access to resources than I do.
But I'm where I am by choice. I turned down an offer to coach at one of these types of 50k+ tuition high schools in TN. Where did it get me? Subjecting sophomores to learning Freud and Lacanian death drive.
The private HS in my hometown is 65k a year including boarding (50k without)
