The Temecula Valley Unified School District voted 3-2 to reject a new Social Studies book that complies with a 2011 California law requiring instruction about “the role and contributions of people with disabilities; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Americans; and other ethnic and cultural groups.”
Two school board members believe gay rights advocate Harvey Milk was a pedophile to justify some of their reasons in rejecting the book.
