Basically people whining about using female as a stand in for "woman" and ignoring when it happens all the time to men as well.

Eh. Disagree with that one, quite a bit actually. Usually I have no real problem with the stuff on Jezebel but that one misses the mark. Maybe it's because I got used to being called a female - a lot - in the Army, it just stopped having meaning to me. I prefer woman, yes, but female doesn't grate on me or anything. That's just looking for things to be offended about.

I realize this doesn't contribute much to the discussion, but how you feel about that article is how most people feel about a lot of stuff written "defending" women.

Now it'd have been different if they'd said "reasons not to call women bitches," because I really do not like when someone comes around asking, "Where the bitches at?" That's something that is justified.

The only reason I could see dislike of the use of female would be in cases of trans women. Female is simply incorrect, as it refers to sex characteristics that a trans woman may or may not have. So if you're going into full-on inclusive feminism, then yes, female would be a misnomer and woman would be better. Even so, I don't think that using female is offensive or wrong as it has become a generally accepted term, even if it's more clinical. That's really the only caveat with its usage.

Okay, so I'm going to ask a question here:

Do you just not believe that men can fall victim to some of the same issues that women do? I mean, instead of discussing points that you thought may be good or bad (maybe there weren't any) you've invalidated his entire article because of the few that you thought were terrible? That doesn't exactly seem like a very open minded way of approaching things.

If men do fall victim to the same issues, what are you expectations on how it should be dealt with?

I read those questions multiple times on twitter and etc. Despite being one of the more pro-feminism leaning guys around here I found many of the questions ridiculous.

Some things are good examples of true sexism and inequality.

He did screencap the tweets complete with the account of the person who asked it so others can determine if the account is indeed real or not. The guy opened the floor for some serious questions, and now you're saying these questions suck. Well, its not the authors fault he got shitty questions, and its very possible he cherry picked these shitty questions for the sole purpose of proving that feminists have ridiculous expectations.

I was saying the original questions asked by feminists with whatever hashtag it was on Twitter were the dumb questions.

Some were good, but some I read and just went "oh for fuck's sake."

I haven't watched this dude's rebuttal or the video that you posted. Don't need a video explanation to tell me that something stupid that I just read is indeed stupid.
