I genuinely don't think it's swinging back yet. It gains more ground faster than any of these small victories. You have people like anita speaking to the UN asking for censorship of the internet while the other side has rebuttal videos that no one watches except the audience they already had anyway.

probably because whatever the failings or virtues of individual actors on either side of the divide one side has the weight of historical progress behind it and the other seems more interested in standing oppositionally than advancing a mutually beneficial agenda of their own

    anti-federalists don't beat federalists

Holy jesus I think the most infuriating thing about that video was the parts from the TV show with Chef whoever (I dont watch TV but I recognize him). Jesus that lady is superbly insane.

Edit: Well I take it back, got to the part where they compare him to a child murderer... for not agreeing with them... I'm not as surprised as I should be. Oh Feminism, you never fail to reach new lows.

I'm including feminism as part of the outrage culture we have nowadays and I think people are becoming more and more sick of it. The crazier they get and the crazy things they do will only alienate them from the middle grounded people.

anita and zoe crying to the UN was a shittastic fail which had SJW's themselves rolling their eyes at after they read the "research" that was spewed out. From me reading comments on typical "BE OUTRAGED BY THIS!" posts on various sites/posts (excluding the HEAVY biased ones like the mary sue) people are telling the authors how bad they are etc.

Being outraged all the time is a mindset and I feel like you have to up the ante to keep it going, which, you can only get so high until you collapse or you cannibalize yourself. Something that we're seeing now. The amount of exposure that can be reached with middle ground people calling out this lunacy is increasing everyday. You got Joe Rogan, The Rubin Report, Milo, Gad Saad, Karen Straughn, Lauren Southern etc pretty big or growing people to help keep things rational. Mercedes Carerra is another name whose a porn star, minority and a female and crazy intelligent and doesn't afraid of anything that the precious little feminist plums barf out.

I'm not sure if anyone is interested but Sargon of Akkad did an interview Erin Pizzey, the woman who started the Women's Refugee homes for battered women decades ago, she had some very interesting things to say. I'm not sure if I'm alone in this perception, but I see two branches of feminist at the moment. The normal middle of the road, sane ones, that I call Feminists and the over the top man hatters that people call Feminazis. I usually call them Radical Feminists because Feminazi's is "problematic".

I don't support Anita/Zoe. I agree with their right to say what they want, but I don't agree with what they are saying or trying to do. It kind of bothers me that they are getting the platforms they are getting and able to silence other people who have legitimate concerns about their methods/tactics.

Erin Pizzey and the woman who's making The Red Pill documentary are women I can support. I'm not sure if that somehow paints me badly somehow. I don't particularly care.

I'm sure that new Suffragettes movie is going make waves of new indoctrinated members in the next generation. There is a definite gender war going on in North America right now, and the radical feminists are winning.

Indeed they are. That's because people don't know their history enough to see the parallels between their tactics and the tactics of fascists. Suppressing free speech and dissent is always the #1 goal. Labeling people as racists or sexists for casual comments taken out of context, or perceived sleights is highly, highly effective against the unwashed masses who are too stupid to look closer at what's going on. That step was a long time ago. They've moved on to making sure peoples' lives are ruined for any missteps. Now they're getting people fired, or worse yet, imprisoned. And they'll continue winning, just as the Nazis did against the Jews, so long as a portion of society supports them, and the rest of society is too afraid or apathetic to oppose them.

Yeah a large part of why they are winning is many of those more middle of the road ones will still listen to and support the radicals. Because while they might recognize them as radicals they still often see things as being on their "side" or doesn't want to be seen supporting the other "side"

A positive to all these radfems is that they love abortion so much and sexual freedom/sluttiness and are absolutely against being a wife or mother because patriarchy that their ideals will die out. Or we can only hope. I will totally support all of them never having children.

They're poisoning the education system. They don't need to procreate to spread their ideology.

It's less the death of just Radifems, and more the death of unquestioningly liberal, PC students who are going to perpetuate the ideals also. The ones who do reproduce are just going to be a new wave of explain-o-parents who never discipline their kid out of fear of staunching their individuality.

That hurt to watch almost as much as it hurts to watch that type of behavior in earnest.

I genuinely wonder if I'm just removed from it because of field, but fuck, I'm still in academia and did 4 years of college in Massachusetts which is one of the most liberal places in the country and I never ran into any of this. In fact racism, sexism, etc were all pretty ubiquitous. I acknowledge that it must happen because I see shit like the yale video and other stuff on the internet but fuck, most of my experiences in college center around FOB asian professors or old white dudes who don't give a shit. There is nothing more racist than someone who just came from China or India, let me fucking tell you, were times even I was like "did they just say that?!". For sex stuff, I remember when I was in sophomore year I was banging one of the other math majors temporarily and like the entire department knew, and a professor made a joke about me hammering some common sense into her cuz she fucked up the HW and the next 5 or so minutes of the class were of people making hammering jokes and this poor asian professor just not understanding any of it and it ending with him being like "oh no no is this sexual oh no no no oh no no no". Nobody cried rape or oppression or triggering. Nobody got fired.

There's even a radically ardent feminist in the grad program here at LSU and while she is incredibly outspoken on FB, will remove comments that disagree, blocked one of the first years cuz she thought he was being misogynist, etc. To my knowledge she's never made a single wave on campus / in person.

Basically, the sorta shit that one would be led to believe would be instant crucifixion for anyone involved. I've just never experienced it.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Modern feminism finally served a purpose. For I went to Target and my eyes shed a tear to see pants with waist/inseam sizes.

Department definitely has some degree of it, but so does the school. Berkley is far, far worse about this kind of stuff than is the University of Washington. Also, I'd say that students and TAs are far, far, far worse about it than professors, at least in my experience-- my voice was welcomed by all of my professors (I tended not to speak in class or discussions without ample evidence from peer-reviewed sources or simlar sources), and often the professors would have to quiet down the hyper-feminists who would just try to out-voice and out-shout anyone who would dare disagree. And not just feminists, but the whole array of not-cis-white-hetero-Christian-male victimized perspective folks (who were mostly also feminists). I have a profound respect for almost all of the professors I had, at the community college level and at the university level-- not all; there were three who were as bad as advertised-- but most were welcome adherents to "I may not agree with you based on my studies, but you have defended your position well" folks, who would also ride hard people who were just saying the expected things but defending them poorly. They wanted people to THINK, not to just agree.

Conversely, I had the three professors (all at the community college level), who were obsessed with the idea that cwhcms were to blame for all wrongs in society, and that nothing good had ever ever ever ever ever happened because of them, but was in fact always done in spite of them, and that even the absolute best of them were still horrible people who should be reviled, while every crime ever by anyone who was not a cwhcm was pardoned because of the unimaginable suffering and horror that was their world. Among the TAs I dealt with, 4 of the 5 in liberal arts programs were of that same kind of bent, while none of the TAs I dealt with in science or maths programs were of that mentality.

So, anecdotes, yay! But still, I think that you can expect more in the sciences to discourage this-- this modern feminism isn't about studies, or reason, or observation, or anything. It's as faith-based as any Evangelical, and mirrors the worst Evangelicals in a lot of ways: they have their sacred texts that they will defend and justify no matter what; anyone who disagrees is an evil person who needs to either be corrected or destroyed; it is highly driven by women; it's extremely emotionally driven-- I FEEL attacked, I FEEL this is right, I just know it is because it seems that way, etc...; both are enjoying some political support (though feminism is stronger right now, I feel, and certainly more open, and the media and academia are much more in line with hyper-feminism than with the Evangelicals).

What's worse, for me, than the college experience, though, is the elementary/middle/high school level experience. It really is extraordinarily female-focused, and even as a kid in the 80s and 90s, I could feel it. Going back and teaching and for years tutoring, I see it-- there are so so many for whom it's just a given that it's astonishing. There's an incredible amount of literature on the current state of education that shows boys being just absolutely beaten down, and all things male questioned, while questioning women isn't the right of boys, and girls are discouraged from disputing things lest they be deemed enemies. I see that more in Seattle than I did when working in eastern Washington, but it's still there, and it's kind of worrisome.
