Teaching is more art than science - if you can't understand a kid and the way they think, you will never reach them.

I'm gonna tell you right now, Blubb... its actually really hard to disagree with the thrust of what you're saying here but I bet they are mostly disagreeing because of the tone of your posts.
    Just being honest.

Sath's got the feelie mangina shit down to an art and Ksandra's a woman, she ain't trying to hear that shit. You better dress it up, son.

Nah it ain't even that. There's a ton of info we don't know about the case and we are sitting here in disbelief saying "yo, that's nonsense, women need to be able to meet the same physical standards as men for this job, that's common sense. Maybe something is up with the testing method or something else? Otherwise this is dumb as shit."

Ya'll come in here "BITCHES BETTER SHAPE UP YOU DONT BELONG IN THIS FIELD BETTER GO BE EMOTIONAL YEAH!"

Like, the amount of salty, sad-ass butthurt that clings to you mongrels is palpable. How thick you need to be to come into a discussion where the focus is "that ruling is retarded if it's strictly on gender differences" and feel the need to stomp around telling women where they do and dont belong?

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

(news flash: Men are highly sought after as teachers BECAUSE they can connect well with students.)

Or because you focused on the physical aspect, which I side with 100%, then this guy went on a "women don't have logic, just feelings" rant.

Men are sought after as teachers because inshallah they aren't pussies and kids find it easier to respect them. As with anything in life, it's easier to learn anything if you respect the people telling it to you. You don't see a lot of gradeschool male teachers, you see a lot of high school male teachers. #patriarchy

You are not wrong. However, know that having that respect is important to teaching, and thinking that teaching is a women's field because they are better at feelings is just dumb. It also greatly ignores how there is a stigma that "teaching is for women" that has existed since 1-room schoolhouses, and therefore most men don't even register it as a possibility.

It has a lot more to do with society than physical/mental differences.

With that said, I want to restate, I think men and women should pass the same test, and I think that test should be designed to give the force the best possible, rather than weakening it for women.

Yeah, I figured as much. I've never been one to go even a little Pathos, though. Logos or fuck off. When you start trying to persuade people with emotional appeals, it stops being about what is objectively correct. The only thing that matters is whether the persuasion attempt succeeds, which with emotional appeals involved, has little to do with the reasoning behind the argument.

I think that women in these positions should be held to the same, uniform standard as any men should. I don't believe what i'm conveying is insensitive, I simply want to be sure if I'm ever in a fire or in need of assistance the one rescuing me will be capable of actually rescuing me if the need is present, regardless of gender. If the test itself is flawed or skewed I am not against changing it as Sath has brought up. But if its going to put lives at risk for the sake of diversity hires? Its unacceptable to me, and it should be unacceptable to any logical person. Its not being against women, its about the fact these standards are there for a very good reason.

I won't get into what I feel men and women are better at as I know there are women out there who could bench press my ass... but the standards aren't just there to exclude women, they're there for the safety of everyone, the rescuer and the rescued. I don't agree with "Women are too emotional" or what have you because I know personality types have no gender border, and while one gender may have more of personality (A), that will still exist in the other so... toss up. idk.

Also, I have a real talk question for the feminist here. Can i have some thoughts and feelings on what feminism has become or is becoming? There are too few examples of the positives modern age feminism has done for the world. While I understand positive is subjective, I will ask a question that isn't loaded and I will honestly take your response to heart. Can anyone name to me some positive things Feminism or SJ Culture has done for the world in the last 5 years?

I've tried a search but nothing comes up that seems... positive... barely positive for women let alone everyone.

I hate that almost all feminism news I'm seeing is entirely something negative. Censorship, pandering, "unlearning", group thinking, social lynch mobs, rioting people out of their jobs and being proud of it, so on.. so forth... Can i have some positive feminism in my life? I'm trying to educate myself on the better side of it but I cannot for the life of me find any examples of positive things in the last 5 years since this movement has started going after the entire world as sexist.

Well women are better teachers, for girls. Men are probably better teaches for both boys and girls. Regardless, it's not a high paying job so men are never going to be interested in it until it is. That's why you see plenty of college level teachers as males because it pays well enough. Most schools pay you little to a lot extra to coach, so that draws men to high school teaching. (and the grils miriet)

I think the only female feminist who posts in this section is Aks, so you'll either hear from men's point of view or have to wait on her.

Thats a little depressing but not entirely unexpected... I'm open to the positives male feminists have to say though.
