Not to defend what the kid said in any way but abusive relationships are kind of "two-way streets". It takes a lot for the one being abused to get out of it. It's important to be able to know what some signs are in an abusive relationship. If one of the students is ever in it and told "they deserve it" they now might know that no, they don't deserve that type of treatment and that's not healthy at all.

Also, what I would've said would be like "okay ladies. All these boys are not ideal date options as we can see. amirite" and turn it around on the boys.

I find it hilarious there's some kid who knows something is pissing people off and is exploiting it while adults get buttmad and teary eyed on forums.

Definitely not something I ever did extensively as a teenager in school or on the internet.

I think I must be an optimist, because part of me wants to think that this kid has seen it and in order to cope has turned it into a joke. Just because he jokes about it doesn't mean he is going to do the same thing has his parents.

None of us were there, and it's not something that's easy to handle I'm sure. Boys are weird, it seems as if they tease or troll each other in a way that makes them closer. This kid could very well be doing that, he may have even done it to get attention of a pretty teacher he has a crush on, who knows.

And yes, I know there are many feminists who DO work on these areas, but the point is they waste time over this fucking bullshit.

I would think she would be well experienced in dealing with trolls. They should have a class for teachers on how to deal with hecklers. I'm glad she did say something to all those kids, the cycle of abuse needs to stop. Its a fail as parents and educators if we cant convince the younger generations that it is not ok to abuse people.

It's safe to assume that with any topic that makes someone upset that there is an opposing view for, real life trolling is rarely diagnosed properly.

That's why there is a politics forum where people complain about FOXNews and Republicans.

I can just imagine my teenage self in a classroom where my Egyptian-heritage teacher thinks she is white and gets upset because I make an offhand comment about "a man needing to do what he's got to do". Rather innocuous, but the teacher lectures us, trying to make us feel bad for the next 10 minutes as other students try to diffuse the situation so we don't have to listen to the shit anymore. All of the negative attention would make it hard to keep a straight face as I was dying of laughter inside - people analyzing and diagnosing my life because of one comment. At the end of those 10 minutes, I probably don't give a fuck, so why not take another shot and really push my teacher and whatever classmates actually care over the edge.

Because I am white, I'd probably go to the Principals office and he'd ask me, "Do you think hitting women is okay"? I'd reply, "Nope". He'd tell me my comments made people feel bad, I'd tell him that my teacher spent 10 minutes losing their mind because I said "Sometimes a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do" instead of teaching us sin^2x=1-cos(2x)/2 which is p.useful cause then I could integral my ass off and determine the volume of container I'd need to contain all the tears. Then I'd go back to class.



I don't really need to imagine the situation though, I know I made similar comments to those in high school, made worse comments as well. I probably believed something like 20-25% of any of the shit I said at the time and of that believe even less today. Maybe that kid is serious, but nothing in whats been presented makes me believe that.

Again, not going to go into details about a student, but I have enough knowledge of his past and present to know he is not trolling. You can think he is, and that just means you haven't been exposed to this type of community. He'll, we hear all the time the abuse from the apartment building next to the school.


And church, THEY think I'm white. Everyone who isn't black or Hispanic is white to them. They have specifically told me as such.

I'd argue that it is a good thing that they heard it considering it's not a problem that will go away in a timely manner. The sooner their eyes are opened to potential avenues of abuse the better and sooner they can take steps to protect themselves ideally.

They need to hear it in the sense they need to learn what to do to get away from it, but not in a way the majority of the class feels it is no big deal and only one of the guys had a brain to pipe up why people say these things.

I only did it to teachers that really pissed me off.... usually though often took devils advocate a tad too far. Was fun though especially if I got others to play along with the trolling or if it was a teacher who didn't know 2 shits about what they were teaching or much of anything at all. I once managed to convince our "science" teacher that we don't need the sun because the core will keep us warm and grow our food. And then there was the teacher that though a 59.9% and a 80% averaged out to an F because anything under 60% is an F but Fs always count as 0... or some B.S. yeah think I got sent to the principal for that rant about her having the math skills of 1st grade retard
