Some of this localization is really really bad
Spoiler: show
Two reasons I pretty much avoid fan translations are A) they're fans, they're going to translate it however they want, and B) Nintendo is going to do what Nintendo is going to do, and I'm not going to pretend to know the reasons for why they do the things they do. I'm not far enough to have that character but she looks like a child so maybe Nintendo wasn't cool with having a minor promise herself to Corrin. Or maybe not, I don't know.
I'd rather take the game for what it is instead of driving myself nuts picking apart changes from a language and context I don't understand.
And on the other hand, we didn't get Tharja-curtain'd this time (Beach DLC super mild spoilers I guess):
Spoiler: show
You guys ever watch Honest Game Trailers? I have never played a Fire Emblem game (it's on my never ending to do list) Does this sum up the series pretty good? (it covers all of them)
The comment about losing your Pegasus Knights because you overextended is so true it hurts.
It's as fair an assessment as a comedy trailer like that can be, I guess. Although in Fates weapons no longer have durability so swords running out of ammo isn't a thing (staves will though).
If you're interested in trying one out, I'd recommend Birthright for a complete newcomer. Or you could just play a ROM of one of the GBA games if you don't want to spend money.
Brutal RNG is also right.
Fucking Chapter 10 of Conquest......
Honestly, while some of it can be kinda silly, it's called localization for a reason.
Anyway, I got some neat stuff in my castle if anyone wants:
13521-26175
91696-53735
-MC w/ Aptitude
-Azura w/ Aptitude, Replicate, Warp (Replicated Azura can't sing which kinda sucks, but warp is REALLY good. Lets you warp next to any character anywhere in the map. And then you can proceed to sing. >:])
-Midori w/ Profiteer, Luck +4, Replicate, Hoshidan Unity, Salvage Blow. Basically a money machine. Her regular ability gives +20% proc rate to luck based skills, profiteer is luck% chance of getting a gold bar (sadly only 300gold) at the end of first 7 turns per battle, hoshidan unity is another +10%, luck+4 obvious, and salvage blow gives you a luck% chance of getting a basic weapon when killing an enemy. Replicated unit can also activate these abilities.
-Kana w/ Aptitude
-Anna (Sadly only level 12, no neat abilities.) Her regular ability is luck% obtain gold when unit attacks and kills an enemy. No idea how strong it is. I'll try to level her up more then reload my castle.
If you want to learn any of the above skills, you just go into my castle and challenge it there (not in your own castle) and don't set any handicaps. Go up and seize the castle. (Units shouldnt move, and have no gear. Let me know if that's not the case...)
After you win, you get to either pick an ability to learn for 1/2 cost (assuming you have the character), or you can "recruit" the character.
Both choices add the character to your log book, where you can recruit them (at a pretty fucking expensive cost), or you can learn abilities from them at base cost.
Recruiting the character just gives you a soul-less einherjar-type character. Depending on how effective Anna's skill is it MIGHT be worthwhile to use her for gold? idk
edit: Also, fyi Aptitude on 1st gen characters besides Mozu are hacked, in case you're some kind of purist.
edit: FYI2, when going to people's castles, give them accessories. You don't lose the accessory, and you get an extra visit point.
If you change Azura's class, does she still have sing?
Nope, gotta change her back to her original job to sing.
Also apparently you can't learn DLC skills from castle, so you can't learn warp from mine I guess, oops.![]()
Chapter 19 in conquest oh god my butthole
How do you get warp anyway?
Witch class.
April 14th you get a free dlc where you can pick a witch or ballistician. (Unlimited ballistician map also comes out that week.)
April 21st should be the unlimited witch dlc.
Managed to kill every unit on the map before escaping with no losses on Birthright chapter 12. Took me 21 turns, four Defense tonics, two Sun Festals, and more uses on Silas's Javelin than should ever be allowed.
Just had my first RNG rage moment. Ch. 9 Birthright, slowly progressing through the map. Get all the way to the boss, and Setsuna misses twice trying for the final hit and dies in the process. Bleh.
Cleared Birthright. On to Conquest!
Think I'll play as a chick this time, and hopefully by the time I finish and do revelations, either the gay marriage patch is fully functional or I find a way to accomplish what I want to do >:]
I'm still on Chapter 14 of Birthright haha. Trying to grind out all the supports and figuring out who I want to marry who is slowing me down.
If you're planning on doing the other routes... Don't bother. I was kinda the same, but I decided fuck that, just married people off based on what hair color I thought would fit the child and moved on.
As soon as you beat the last level and move on to the next route, you're probably never touching that save ever again.
Revelations is the place to do all the grindy stuff since that's where you get pretty much almost every unit.
That's a pretty fair point, I hadn't thought about availability in Revelation.
Also if anyone has a Silas that knows Armored Blow (the level 15 Great Knight skill) and would be willing to give me their Castle Address and set him on the field (or even better, set up your defenses to let me easily seize without much fighting) so I can learn it, I'd appreciate it muchly.
I just bought this. Bit late on it as I love Fire Emblem games but cash has been tight. Kind of regret getting Conquest after seeing what a massive cunt King w/e is lol
