Each one is a full game, but Conquest is regarded as the harder of the two, both for its map design and objectives, as well as the fact that there are no Scouting missions in Conquest, meaning no grinding like Birthright. You can buy both of the other paths for $20 each from within the game.

Edit: If you buy your first path digitally I think you actually get a choice on which path to follow in/after Chapter 6, but if you're playing on a cartridge the game will choose for you the first time through.

It's nintendo and they love to seperate things up into dlc etc It's just conquest is more of the 'default' FE experience while birthright is more noobish friendly but not that rough? Reviews seem to point in that direction.

Birthright is definitely the easier of the two. Conquest is the more "traditional" FE experience, meaning it's harder (fairly significantly so, from what I understand). I'm not sure where Revelation falls, but I think it's probably closer to Conquest's difficulty.

If this is your first entry in the series, or you're just not very good/experienced, I'd probably recommend playing Birthright first just so you can get some practice without getting frustrated.

Nah this isn't my first. Was just wandering why they didn't make it a bit more clear on the typical vs for new people.

The item listed below is taking longer to fulfill than we anticipated. However, we do expect it to arrive at your door by 03/14/2016.
Are you fucking kidding me???????? Fuck Best Buy and their stupid Gamer's Club. They're 1/3 for actually getting things to me on release date, so time to go back to Amazon >.>

So I've heard three different responses from Best Buy:

Version 1 - they oversold preorders (some say by as much as one-thousand units) and so now they're waiting for another shipment/people probably are not going to get their items.

Version 2 - Their shipment from Nintendo got delayed, the email was automated, and they will have more information once the shipment arrives.

Version 3 - They found out about this yesterday and have no additional information.

I'm really bothered by the fact that there are multiple explanations going on. I spent forty minutes on the phone with two different people and got two different explanations. The first checked my local stores as said she had just connected someone in NYC with one in store (even know about the March 14th date without me even mentioning my order number) -- of course my local stores didn't have any. The second gave me the "we're waiting on another shipment," followed by talking to more people and then saying "shipment from Nintendo was delayed, no special orders have gone out" explanation/we're looking into it internally. My biggest worry is that version 1 is true and I'm about to be fucked.

I've called nearly every retail chain in my area and noone has extra special editions. I would have to think another round is forthcoming if so many reports about over-ordered preorders are real.

It's Nintendo, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's only one printing of the special edition. Sounding like if you didn't preorder, you're almost certainly not going to get it, and even if you did preorder, you might not..

I poked around locally this morning and had no luck so I said fuck it and bought both games off the eShop. Really the only thing you miss out on by getting them all digitally (or one physical and the other two digital) is the art book.

I'm still one of those "only digital if I have to" as I would much rather own the physical box and cart/disc. I don't care about the art book, and I feel horrible shelling out for both copies and then Revelations in 3 weeks. I'll wait until the scalper market comes to its senses, Nintendo pulls a Majoras Mask 3DS reissue of the collectors edition, or I find one at Gamestop/Amazon used.

If none of those are available by the time I've finished my first playthrough of Xenoblade X, then I'll cave and buy both games separately.

I checked the Best Buy by my house on my way home out of curiosity, and they had sold their only copy of the CE like an hour previous. Crappy luck.

Worth noting that buying one physical and two digital, or all three digitally, is the same price as the Special edition. Just make sure you buy the other two paths through the in-game menus or you'll be charged full price.

Or the ability to share the game with someone else.

For the record, people getting stuck on Birthright chapter 5: it is a pretty difficult chapter relatively speaking. I'd pair up Kaze and Rinkah and try to feed them as many kills as possible because Corrin won't get much EXP in that chapter.

I think Chapter 10 in Conquest is supposed to be rough as well.
