They had an old ref on sportscenter earlier pretty much defending the Patriots saying it wouldn't make much a difference, and the refs would never notice cause they want to move along quickly. Then hasselback is like pfft qbs would notice in a second and anyone else who handles balls.

NFL teams prepare their own 12 game balls, which are checked by officials prior to kickoff. After being checked, balls are given to an attendant who works with officials to rotate footballs in play. There is a separate set of kicking balls, used only for special teams.

So basically, once the balls are checked they're being handled by officials/league employees at that point. Regardless of whether the balls might have been intentionally deflated, if the officials checked the balls and oked them, then this should be entirely on the league themselves, not the Pats.

Which obviously means the Pats will have to forfeit whatever draft picks they get from the Jets for tampering.
