^ Yes. The anti-spend-all-your-asian-days-playing-in-a-cyber-cafe-until-you-die mechanic for when they released into all of those Asian territories that have laws against playing over a certain amount of hours a day.
TP is not really the same as stamina bar. Similarities sure but not precisely the same in practice.
Pretty sure it's the exact same in practice but tweaked to not be shit. They took away TP, reintroduced the Stamina Bar -WHAMO!-, renamed that shit to TP.
It's been quite a while and it was only around for so long but I don't remember anything particularly negative about the stamina bar.
Really, 1.0 with the stamina bar was much closer to 2.0's combat than the interim. You didn't have auto attacks and stamina was essentially a different kind of GCD.
In retrospect it's kind of funny that the pace of combat actually got slower with the changes they made throughout 1.0, you went from spamming a handful of stamina attacks GCD style (regular, straight line, conal, etc) to build TP for WS to a much more XI-like system where you just kinda sat there and AA-d till you had TP.
You mean the system designed to meet China's requirement for release there at the time? Nope. Though I always enjoy when people start blasting 1.0/1.23/XI even though ARR literally is nothing without either them, since the grand majority of ARR's 2.0-2.3 content were based around 1.x content (99% of the dungeons and base content systems) and unreleased content (Titan, Leviathan and Ramuh) and aside the XIV assets used, there's far more XI assets used with XII and XIII assets sprinkled here and there, so honestly when you think about it, ARR got extremely lucky it had such a "solid" base to build from.
The only good the fatigue system did was regulate your playtime since you know people loved to bitch about "omfg no one has time to play games/MMOs anymore!" but no, it's not a good system in any game.
Yet every one who partakes in mobile gaming eats that shit right up with the only difference: You can pay to bypass it.
There is absolutely nothing to indicate Ramuh was ever in 1.0 whatsoever. We know Titan existed in Lv52 etc quests during Tanaka days and we know Yoshida planned on releasing Titan + Leviathan instead of Moogle + Garuda but then earthquake/tsunami, but I have no idea how you pulled Ramuh into this. I'm also not sure how ARR is 99% 1.0 other than lore/story/world being 99% similar, the games play incredibly differently. RIP magic combos
We also know Titan's model existed in the game's file since release, but again I think you're overestimating things.
Wow I guess those mages have it good. TP is not stamina, stamina affects every single actions you take (even normal ones or abilities). There is a difference between stamina, MP and TP and you have to be fucking blind to miss it.
My god, it really is like we've gone back in time to when 2.0 was coming out and everyone was saying shit that was stupid. Can we please stop this?
Could you talk out of your ass anymore?
I like how ARR would be nothing without 1.0 when 1.0 was the reason that people started to lose faith in SE. If ARR hadn't happened SE would've suffered huge because of 1.0. 2.0 doesn't owe anything to it's predecessors what the shit?
Based on is only a word used loosely when you're trying to say copy, but they changed everything about their previous assets including how they look, the layout and even how they function. Considering they also took 1.0 and made it into a suitable game there's literally nothing that 1.0 or XI has to do with 1.23 or 2.0.
Unless you think that a FF game having FF things is somehow an issue.
XIV definitely requires skill and everything isn't a mindless zerg like it is in XI. Look at the Good King Moggle Mog (Extreme) fight and the annoying crazy steps you have to go through in all 5 phases. There's a million opportunities for your group to get wiped. You fight him in 3 forms and if you do too much damage or not enough you get Moogle Memento's which destroys you, then you gotta bring all adds to 10%, then try to avoid the meteors. Its a crazy fight and each form needs a completely different strategy. I'm glad ffxiv doesnt have just tank and spanks or zergs that XI suffers from
Guy seem to have a 'strange fixation almost sexual about the bar"
Pretty sure 70% of the mob models in XIV are recycled XI models with an HD skin plastered on. Mandragoras, Goblins, Goobues, Urganites, Gargouilles, Kindred, Taurus, Imps, Pugils, some Elementals, Gallus Sandworms, Adamantoises, Behemoths, Apkallus, Qiqern, Crabs, Puks, Vultures, Orobons, almost every Hunt (e.g. Stinging Sophie), Mamool Ja. I'm probably missing about a dozen more. All taken directly from XI.
Also Stamina bar is much closer to the GCD system then TP system -,-
So you take a way a monster looks from a previous iteration and make it look and move better. That doesn't sound at all like FF. Pretty sure 65% and a dozen more are meaningless numbers, but if you have a source for the copypasta (not that I doubt it could happen but considering the majority of those monsters are small time it doesn't really mean much) then that would be good.
Of course, you would have to discount the original monsters and bosses but I suppose you don't care about that and only care that a few monsters came from XI so therefore XIV owes EVERYTHING it has to it. Ridiculous.
While they both control pace to a certain degree you can't force a GCD system to be faster than it is, whereas with stamina you can burn it all in 3 seconds and have to wait for 10 or you can pace yourself. People need to realise that stamina is it's own concept and not interchangeable with GCDs or point systems.
Stamina combat and GCD combat aren't bad, but 1.0's combat (like Seravi said) was unpolished and lacking in just about everything. Good ideas don't mean shit when executed poorly.
Anglers, Marmots, Amalj'aa, Ixali, Sylphs, Sahagin, Kobold, Dragons, Cyclops, Mammets, Bears, Catoblepas, Buffalo, Girugaevis, Coeurl, Funguar, Antelope, Toads, Morbol, Drakes, Wolves, Twintania, Wyverns, Tonberries, Snurbles, Dodos, Aldgoats, Moles, Cactuars, Magitek Vanguards, Magitek Juggernauts, Boars, Ogres, Coblyns, Skeletons, Chimera, and many more are also unique, I really wouldn't say over half are XI models.
It was mentioned around 1.0's release they redid some of their favourite XI models (Goblin, Qiqirns, Imp, Goobbue, Apkallu) since they were made by the same people or some shit? Something about the monster team was the same team who worked on ToAU or some shit. Alot of 11, 12, 13 models came in with the ARR relaunch, c'est vrai, but again I think you're being a big overzealous claiming over half of all models are from FFXI.
Iron Giants, Helmet Crabs, Harpeia, Hydra, Golems, Gremlins, Arioch, Baalzephon, Efts, Hecteyes, Ladybug/Beetles, Puks/Pterocs, Deathclaw
Also I wouldn't consider this a "port" of a model like your other listings: similar to/inspired by, sure; but if you have a problem with that then you have a problem with final fantasy lol
Spoiler: show
"go back to ffxi then"
