I'm really not sure how I feel about this. He's openly said he doesn't want to seek the presidency, but there's some serious pressure from the media and other groups for him to throw in. I kinda feel bad for him. Especially as someone who has been thrown into a position that he didn't want before.

I kinda feel like Sanders is benefiting a lot from being "Not Hillary". If Biden enters the race and starts with the normal Uncle Joe stuff, this could be bad for both Hillary and Sanders.

It depends. Clinton and Biden would essentially be vying for the same votes, so Clinton either has to distance herself from Obama's (Biden) policies or appear to be more of a genuine pick than Biden. The latter is impossible, so you'll start to see her start to deviate from Obama principles, even if she's internally for them. Sanders gets a bit of a upmark because his views never changes, so he also will appear more genuine as people pick apart Clinton for flipflopping on ideals.

As Ragnus stated, Biden just needs to be himself really for benefit, gaffs and all. I mean the guy hasn't announced nor raised a penny for campaigning and his poll numbers are comparable to Sanders already. Biden is just a genuine guy inside and out. I hope if he runs he goes maximum creeper status. Touch and kiss every woman alive.

Biden benefits the most from Name ID, he should poll much higher if he announces, he's that lovable uncle dude. Biden fares just as poorly as Clinton when it comes time for debates, though.

TL;DR is that he pulls more from Clinton because he's ultimately still an establishment candidate, but chances are slim that he can overtake her as the singular establishment candidate. And of course that singular establishment candidate, whether Biden or Clinton, is massively favored over Bernie in almost all of the relevant metrics.

Except that what you think will be a losing statement coming from Clinton/Biden's mouths because it's too moderate/conservative will actually be the winning position because it's more palatable to the moderates.
