Maybe Paul Ryan's unearned "Very Serious Person" status can get those howler monkeys in line, but I doubt it. They'd turn on him in a few years or less.

This brings up something I was wondering that absolutely has no place in this board at all but I'll ask (and probably not get a response) anyway:

Hasn't the forum software industry heavily evolved from vBulletin/phpBB of the early 00s by this point? I know we migrated from phpBB and split off a while back; I was there for it--but isn't there something more new-age at this point we could be using?

There might be, but remember, forum software rose out of a combination of BBS internet history, the bandwidth constraints of the early 2000s, and a certain mix of coder population and mindset.
If there is a new-er forum framework, odds are it's more flashy useless bullshit than anything else.

Also, migrations are a fucking headache alone. Moreso with the post volume/history we've accumulated. And it's likely to break any custom stuff BG has without supplying a replacement.
