Being in podunk Ohio, people here will literally believe he'll ban Muslims or whatever. It's one thing for you guys to think he doesn't really mean it, but there's enough who believe he will and would suitably get pissed if he doesn't, come doomsday. Overall, I have no difficulty seeing this mentality thriving in other rural or under-educated areas. 'Murica 'n all that.

If we remove the Southeast Asian countries, and we remove the Maghreb countries, we are left with the Levant and Pakistan.

The Levant has Hezballah. ISIS and AQ and all those types of worldwide terror, caliphate, etc, factions are a threat to their existence and ability to achieve what they want.

So you're left with Pakistan. One Muslim country on that list, Sunni Muslim at that, from the area of the world that Islam began. 62% "Don't know" which, if you'll allow someone who actually knows what they're talking about to elaborate, means they either support ISIS or don't care if ISIS kills kafirs.

Was listening to Louisiana local radio the other day for shits and the news section was a literal circle jerk of how Donald trump wanting to ban muslims IS the right idea and he is the only one looking out for us. Callers flooded to agree and call Obama a muslim.

The American people are exhausted of hearing about the problems with radical Islamic terrorism. They are exhausted of the administration saying that anti-Muslim backlash is the greater of the two evils, especially when only 16.9% of 2013 hate crimes (latest numbers we have, I believe) are labeled as religious hate crimes, and only 13.7% are against Muslims. You know what the largest religious hate crimes are against? It's against Jews, at 60.3% of religious hate crimes, and yet I here absolutely nothing, from him, about the dangers of anti-Semitic backlash. It's total and complete BS to respond with Anti-Muslim fears when incredibly little is going on in that arena; and yes, it's to be condemned when it actually happens. Perspective is the issue here.

What should frighten you is that people are not tired of hearing about the problems, they're tired of not hearing the solutions they want to hear.

Trump's base really does want a world with a wall to help block out the Hispanics, an immigration ban that keeps all the Muslims out, etc. etc. The GOP has pushed the fear button so hard and so often (even the Dems do, see Hilary's 9/11 comment a bit back at one of the debates) that they've actually made their base not exhausted, but -allergic- to the concept of the people they fear and hate getting anything, and the standard of "people I fear and hate" has been painted with a very broad brush.

The GOP planted the seeds, Trump's just the one willing to harvest the entire disgusting crop all the way to the Presidency that has the knowhow and the grit to do so, in part because he's brilliant at knowing precisely how dirty he can get and not get stained in the eyes of the people that count.

We're talking a man who hangs out with WWE folks and did shtick for pro wrestling and has made a living at self-spin while making cash and a name for himself worldwide, laughing at scandals all the while. The rest of the field lacks the charisma or the zest for dirty politics and that means unless someone manages to catch Trump buggering a 6-year-old or murdering a grandma on live TV, he really is unstumpable.

If the GOP had a solution for Trump, they'd have gotten it right by now and this whole thing would be a Cruz/Rubio duel.

They are Coptic, so I can understand from their life experiences why think banning Muslims is a good idea.

Yet they can't understand that "Ban Muslims" basically equals "ban all middle easterners" which includes them.

What do they think is going to happen? Anytime you apply to come here "Hey, are you Muslim?" "No." "Oh ok, you are gtg!"

You think Americans will be able to spot a Coptic over a Muslim when those have absolutely zero to do with what you look like?

Are Muslims supposed to come here and pray in the attic like they are the Franks?

This is the Republican political strategy of at least the last ~15 years. Pit groups against each other without making them realize that they're voting against their own self-interests. Get middle-class and poorer, older white people to come out to vote because [insert X group] is taking their jobs / destroying their way of life.

Only it worked TOO well and now Trump is going to blow up the party. It was a brilliant short-term strategy but it is a demographic timebomb for Republicans. Hell, maybe it still works in 2016 and Trump wins because people are just mad at government and want to feel like putting in a Republican will change things, but this is not healthy for the long-term viability of the party.

TL;DR: The Sanders campaign potentially had access to Clinton voter data due to a DNC glitch. The DNC is cutting the Sanders campaign off from the 50 state voter file until it can prove it's destroyed all the Clinton data they have. Problem is that you can't really destroy something you don't have. At least according to the Sanders campaign.
