Not sure if I should post this here.

    http://www.commondreams.org/news/201...tm_source=news

As Sen. Bernie Sanders continues to attract overflow crowds, it was "standing-room-only" at a large community center in Keene, New Hampshire on Saturday where the presidential candidate continued to describe how a grassroots-driven "political revolution" is needed in the country in order to make real progress on debilitating levels inequality and student debt, the increasing threat of climate change, and the firm grip on the nation's democracy held by the billionaire class and corporate interests.
The Wall Street Journal reported that approximately "800 people squeezed" into the event, but a local newspaper put the number at over a 1,000 attendees, with many spilling out into the entryway and beyond.

"This is not about Bernie Sanders," the candidate said to the room filled beyond capacity. "You can have the best president in the history of the world but that person will not be able to address the problems that we face unless there is a mass movement, a political revolution in this country. Right now the only pieces of legislation that get to the floor of the House and Senate are sanctioned by big money, Wall Street, the pharmaceutical companies. The only way we win and transform America is when millions of people stand up as you’re doing today and say. 'Enough is enough. This country belongs to all of us and not a handful of billionaires.'"

The fight ahead, he told the crowd, "Is about you."

Why would you want a Republican president?

That post was so unnecessary lol You don't think Bernie has a chance in hell to beat Hillary, which is perfectly sane. But let's play make believe correctly and recognize that Bernie vs Bush would probably make the Obama youth/minority groundswell look like a joke. Bernie doesn't even need to pander to black voters like Obama did; he talks about doing shit that affects them, and as soon as they hear him, they listen. None of that "I know it's hard being black, nyuck-nyuck." garbage.

    > "Hey look, my name is notorious bum and I'm so optimistic about the average American that I think they'd elect someone with bad hair."

Sanders won't win because most of the people who vote for president are uninformed twats that don't know anything about the actual views of their candidates.

"Socialist" is still a pretty bad word in this country (at the very least, controversial). Have trouble believing he could get past that.

Yeah, he's too far to the left to win in a general election. He'd either have to tone down his position to get closer to center (which I'm not convinced he could do), or the Republican nominee would shift slightly to the left (while not actually being liberal) and win it all.

Also, fourth week in a row Carson leads the Republican field.

I don't think Sanders can beat a Republican because he'll never win over enough fake liberals to even get that chance. That's not overly optimistic of American public, that just means I have a healthy imagination lol

A decades-old Iowa tradition came to an end as the Iowa Republican Party voted to end the straw poll in a conference call Friday morning.

It's still the first primary - straw polls are essentially nonsense.

With Jeb officially in (http://www.cnn.com/2015/06/15/politi...ent/index.html), someone finally knocks Carson out of first. Of course Jeb is first in the polls, but only by 1%.

Also, we're at eleven candidates now, so now it's a race to see who'll make the cut!

yet a brutal primary fight isn't necessarily a bad thing, Obama was forged into an outstanding candidate by duking it out with Hilary for 18 straight months and what political liabilities he had were mostly old news by the general

that said a winnowed field would aid the legitimate candidates with crossover appeal (Rubio, Bush, Rand, maybe Walker) lest they become too tainted by crazy (here's looking at you Ben and Ted) during the campaigning

There was no duking out between Obama and Hilary, they gave nearly identical debates. Obama had swag and an MLK mask.
